◇ Dong Zhong Seeks Family
Dong Zhong was the son of Dong Yong of the Han Dynasty, born from a celestial maiden who came down to marry Dong Yong. Later, the celestial maiden helped Dong Yong pay off debts and return to freedom, then returned to heaven.
At seven years old, Dong Zhong, lacking a mother, often faced ridicule, and wanted to find his mother.
Guided by a master, Dong Zhong went to Taibai Mountain on July 7th, where the celestial maiden appeared, and finally met his mother.

◇ Dong Yong Sells His Body
In the Han Dynasty, Dong Yong was from Qiansheng. He lost his mother at a young age and raised his father alone, living in Xiaogan.
Later, his father died without money for burial, so he borrowed ten thousand coins, but later couldn't repay, so he sold his body as a slave. After burying his father, the creditor made Dong Yong cut one basket of firewood and carry four baskets of water daily, cultivate six or seven mu of land, very hard.
One day, Dong Yong was cutting firewood on the mountain, tired and fell asleep. The heavens saw Dong Yong's filial piety, so sent a fairy down to marry him.
When Dong Yong woke up, he saw the fairy and feared she was a demon, ready to run away. The fairy stopped him and said, "I have no parents and am homeless, I want to marry you."
Seeing the woman's sad background, Dong Yong brought her home.
The creditor accused Dong Yong of abducting a woman, fearing it would trouble the master.
Later, they temporarily kept the woman, searched everywhere, found no missing women, and allowed Dong Yong to marry.
The fairy wove fifty zhang of silk in 100 days, cut half to sell in the market, exchanged for silver to help Dong Yong redeem himself.
Later, she presented the silk, and the emperor awarded Dong Yong as the Jinbao状元 (Jinbao状元).
The fairy said, "Heaven will give you a son, and the child will be sent to you when he is three years old." (The fairy returned to heaven).
Later, the son became a状元 at sixteen, returned home in glory.

In the 28th year of King Huan of Qi, Ning Qi learned that King Huan valued talents and had ambitions, so he decided to join the state of Qi to achieve something. He traveled as a merchant, drove to Qi, and at dusk rested outside the city. He met King Huan welcoming guests outside the city. Ning Qi, while feeding oxen under the carriage, looked sorrowfully at King Huan and beat the horn to sing. King Huan, eager for talent, recognized Ning Qi as a rare talent after a conversation, ordered him to be taken back and appointed him as prime minister.
