During pregnancy, pregnant women need to be aware of certain things they should avoid doing and places they should avoid going. If you want to learn more about related knowledge, please visit the "Customs and Beliefs During Pregnancy" special topic on Huayi Network.
Can pregnant women enter a new house?
Whether a pregnant woman can enter the wedding room depends on the couple's own preferences. It is not recommended for pregnant women to enter the wedding room during a wedding, due to superstitious beliefs. In ancient times, it was believed that the "tai shen" (fetus god) of the pregnant woman might clash with the "xi shen" (joy god) of the newlyweds, which could have negative effects on both the pregnant woman and the newlyweds, and may even affect the health of the fetus, leading to miscarriage. Some regions place great importance on traditional customs and taboos, and in such cases, pregnant women are not allowed to enter the newlyweds' new house.
The idea that pregnant women should not enter the wedding room is just a local custom, without any superstitious implications or scientific basis. However, it is advisable not to enter the wedding room, as there may be vigorous activities that could be harmful to women in early pregnancy, potentially leading to poor fetal development. It is recommended that pregnant women rest more.

Where should pregnant women avoid going?
1、Weddings, funerals, marriages, and other events
At weddings, there are many people and children, making it easy to get bumped into; while at funerals, pregnant women may be affected by the sad emotions, causing breathing difficulties and fetal hypoxia. Moreover, the heavy yin energy at funerals may also be detrimental to the fetus.
2、Temples
During religious activities at temples, burning incense and lighting candles can pose a significant threat to pregnant women. Additionally, staying in smoky and hot environments for long periods can cause dizziness, chest tightness, and shortness of breath.
3、Cemeteries
Pregnant women should stay away from cemeteries, as these places have heavy yin energy and may clash with the baby, causing various discomforts if the baby is startled. Therefore, pregnant women should avoid such places.
4、Unfamiliar places
Pregnant women should preferably go to places they are familiar with. Unfamiliar places carry many uncertainties and increase the risks for both the mother and the fetus. For example, visiting friends' homes or malls where the placement of items is unknown can lead to accidents.
5、Entertainment venues
Places like bars and nightclubs are unsuitable for pregnant women because of poor air circulation and loud noises that may stimulate the baby and make them feel uneasy. Additionally, places like cinemas with high radiation levels and enclosed environments are also unsuitable for pregnant women.
6、Places with strong odors
Pregnant women should avoid places like orchards sprayed with pesticides and newly renovated houses. The odors in these places may cause discomfort to pregnant women, and inhaling harmful substances can affect the health of the fetus and their nervous system development.
