Once upon a time, there was a king who had a monk living in his house. This monk had some supernatural abilities and could foresee many things. One day, he told the king, "Your Majesty, please allow me to tell you something very scary. This city will soon be flooded, and you and your subjects will have to stay underwater like fish. The only way to know when the flood is coming is for you to send someone every day to check the stone lion in the market. If the lion's eyes start bleeding, the flood will come within seven days." After saying this, regardless of the king's pleas, he packed his belongings and left.

The king believed what the monk said and sent his three daughters every day to buy meat, actually to check the stone lion's eyes. There were five butchers near the lion. They were very surprised by the princesses' personal visits to buy meat. They discussed among themselves, "Heavens! The king has hundreds of male and female servants, why are the princesses buying meat themselves? There must be something wrong here." One day, they asked the youngest princess about their doubts. The princess looked around to make sure no one was listening, then honestly told them about the lion's bleeding eyes.
The young princess left, and the five butchers gathered together, talking and planning how to seize this secret and make a lot of money. At night, they secretly painted the lion's eyes with cow blood and sheep blood. The next day, the eldest princess came to buy meat. When she saw the lion's eyes full of blood, she was so frightened that she didn't even take the meat and hurriedly ran to inform the king. The king immediately called all his ministers and announced the terrible news. He sold all the palace property at the lowest price and led his people and citizens to the mountain.
Only the five butchers laughed secretly in their hearts. They bought countless properties and houses with just a little money. They killed many cows and sheep, cooked large pots of wine, and each family took turns inviting guests for three days to celebrate their smartness that turned them into the richest people in the city overnight. While they were drinking and having fun, the lion's eyes truly started to bleed, but because they were covered with the butchers' cow and sheep blood, it was not easy to notice. After seven days, a flood drowned the whole city, and these five butchers along with their wealth were swept away by the roaring waves without a trace.
