Guyu
Guyu is the sixth solar term of the 24 solar terms and also the last one of spring. When the sun reaches 30 degrees of ecliptic longitude between April 19th and 21st every year, it is Guyu, derived from the ancient saying "rain brings hundred grains". It is also the best time for sowing seedlings and planting beans. The most prominent feature of Guyu weather is heavy rainfall, which is beneficial for the growth of grain crops.In ancient China, Guyu was divided into three phases: "The first phase is the beginning of floating weeds; the second phase is the crows brushing their feathers; the third phase is the cap bird descending onto the mulberry tree." This means that after Guyu, the amount of rainfall increases, and the floating weeds begin to grow. Then, the cuckoo bird starts reminding people to plant seeds, and finally, the cap bird can be seen on the mulberry trees.
