The lunar birthday usually calculates the age in terms of the "xu" (虚岁). It is divided by the Spring Festival (Lunar New Year). The specific conversion method is as follows:
①: Converting Xu age to real age: Before your solar birthday arrives, real age = xu age - 2; After your solar birthday arrives, real age = xu age - 1. Converting real age to xu age: Before your solar birthday arrives, xu age = real age + 2; After your solar birthday arrives, xu age = real age + 1.
②: Xu age = current lunar year - birth lunar year + 1.
The calculation method for xu age is: A person is counted as one year old at birth, and each time a Spring Festival (originally referring to the beginning of spring) occurs, they gain another year.

How many days difference between the lunar and solar birthdays?

It varies every year because the lunar and solar calendars are not fixed daily correspondences. Therefore, the exact number of days depends on the Chinese calendar. Generally, every 19 years, there will be a phenomenon where the lunar birthday and solar birthday coincide, meaning they fall on the same day. This is mainly related to leap months.

What are the types of calendars?

Calendar: It can be divided into three types: solar calendar, lunar calendar, and lunisolar calendar:
Solar calendar (solar year): It takes the solar annual apparent motion cycle (i.e., the tropical year, approximately 365.2422 days) as a year, which is divided into 12 months. It has nothing to do with the moon's movement. According to the solar calendar date, you can know the changes of seasons, and it can reasonably guide agricultural activities. The Gregorian calendar (official name) is a type of solar calendar.
Lunar calendar (lunar year): Our lunar calendar does not belong to this category, but in daily life, people often refer to the lunar calendar as the lunar calendar. It takes the moon's waxing and waning cycle (i.e., the synodic month, equal to 29.530588 days) as a month, and 12 months make up a year. It completely ignores the sun's annual apparent motion rules, so the dates on the lunar calendar cannot show the change of seasons and temperature. This type of calendar has very little practical value and is no longer used except by Islamic countries.
Lunisolar calendar: Our lunar calendar belongs to this category. It takes the moon phase change cycle (the synodic month) as the length of a month, and refers to the solar tropical year as the length of a year. By setting leap months, it makes the average lunar year match the tropical year. According to the lunar calendar date, you can know both the tides and roughly the changes of the seasons.
