One's fate is determined by one's life, luck, feng shui, accumulated virtue, and education. Next are name, appearance, respect for gods and spirits, associating with influential people, and health cultivation. The quality of feng shui directly affects our fortune. As the main workplace for office workers, the office occupies most of people's time. Therefore, is it good feng shui if the lights in the office fall down? How should the office lighting be arranged?

Is it good feng shui if the light in the office falls down?

In feng shui, there is no clear indication that it is an ill omen when the light falls down. Therefore, it is generally considered a result of aging parts or construction mistakes.

How to arrange the office lighting?

1. Establish a main power box to control all the lights
It is important to establish a main power box to control all the lights, and place the main electrical box in a relatively hidden but convenient location. It should not be designed as a display hall's overall control method. The switch should be convenient for office staff to operate, and it should not be controlled entirely from the front desk or the distribution room's power box. Also, randomly accessing the power box can lead to electric shocks and cause safety hazards.
2. Pay attention to selecting appropriate lamp shapes and energy-saving functions
The shape of the lamp should be suitable for the nature of work and needs. It is not advisable to choose colored glass diffused or gauze-enclosed decorative lamps because these lamps focus more on decoration than illumination. Here, lamps with reflectors and open bottoms, i.e., direct-type desk lamps or writing lamps, should be selected. Desk lamps typically use incandescent bulbs and fluorescent lamps. Incandescent bulbs have a higher color rendering index than fluorescent lamps, while fluorescent lamps have a higher light efficiency. Each has its own advantages and can be chosen based on individual needs or preferences for lamp shapes. Energy-saving new light sources such as fluorescent lamps combine the advantages of both incandescent and fluorescent lamps and have a very novel and compact design with significant energy-saving effects, making them the best light source for desk lamps.
3. Determining the position of the lamps is crucial.
General lighting in the office should be designed on both sides of the work area. When using fluorescent lamps, the lamp axis should be parallel to the horizontal line of sight, and it is not advisable to place the lamps directly in front of the work position. If the work position cannot be clearly determined, lamps with large light-emitting areas and low brightness, such as bidirectional bat-wing type luminaires, can be used. Office lighting should consider the illumination of the desk and the guest area. The light source should come from the upper left rear.
4. Lamp shape
The shape of the lamp should preferably be square, round, or rectangular. If it is strip-shaped, it should be arranged horizontally in balance with the person sitting. Do not form vertical right angles facing each other, as this may feel like a sharp arrow pointing directly, causing pressure and affecting emotional stability and work efficiency.
5. Lamps must not be installed directly under the desk
It is forbidden to place desks and seats directly under the lamps. If the office has poor natural light, additional lighting facilities should be added, but it is important to avoid installing tubes above the desk. This is because if the desk is directly under the light, it will create strong glare on the desk, which is bad for the eyes. Additionally, the intense light energy may make people working here emotionally unstable, mentally tense, and unable to concentrate, which can negatively affect both personal and company fortunes.
6. Office lamps should match the overall space layout and main color scheme
The most suitable colors for office decoration are those that are compatible with the boss's five elements. Generally, for bosses born between the 19th day of the second lunar month and the 4th day of May, who lack metal, the main color of the office should be white, with circular patterns. For bosses born between the 5th day of May and the 7th day of August, who lack water, the main color of the office should be blue, light gray, or white, with water pattern designs. For bosses born between the 8th day of August and the 7th day of November, who lack wood, the main color of the office should be light green, with straight lines or square patterns. For bosses born between the 8th day of November and the 18th day of February, who lack fire, the main color of the office should be light red or light purple, with triangular patterns.
7. The lighting tone of the lamps should be warm tones
Compared to ordinary incandescent lamps, daylight lamps or LED light sources are more advanced, and even some high-tech products like solar lamps have appeared. However, remember that the lighting tone of the lamps should be a soft and non-irritating light, which is the best choice.
