Choosing a good office environment can energize people and lead to increased wealth. On the contrary, a poor office environment can make people feel exhausted and unmotivated. Therefore, for a business person, the feng shui of the office is extremely important. Did you know that the front desk of the office also affects the feng shui? Here is a comprehensive analysis of the feng shui of the office front desk and what are the feng shui precautions?

What are the precautions for the office front desk?

(1) Should not face the main door directly
If the entrance hall is considered as the company's "ming tang" (bright hall), then the front desk should not be placed directly in front of the main door. Although this design allows visitors to see the company from a distance, it can create an obstruction in the hall, preventing the flow of positive energy, which ultimately reduces the effectiveness of the open space. The best practice is to place the front desk away from the main door, but still visible to visitors from a distance outside.
(Many companies do not consider feng shui principles when designing their front desks, especially those with a direct line between the front and back doors, forming a straight passage. This violates the feng shui rule of "hiding wind and gathering energy," leading to loss of wealth and conflicts among employees.)
In such cases, it is advisable to set up a front desk with a "guiding energy" effect, which can attract positive energy, provide a welcoming space, and also shield the private areas of the company.
(2) Distance from the main door
It is not favorable for the company's feng shui if the front desk is too close to the main door. If it is too near, it will block the entrance, disrupt the "ming tang" formation created by the entrance hall, and affect the ability of the door to absorb positive energy. When the energy intake is blocked and the "ming tang" becomes smaller, the company's fortune naturally cannot flourish. In a store, the counter or checkout area serves as the front desk. The distance between the counter and the main door should not be too close, as this can affect the business.
A key function of the front desk is to filter out unimportant customers. Since the side cannot completely block external negative energy, the reception desk should not be placed on the side of the entrance.
Feng shui considers curved and swirling energy as auspicious. If there is no service desk in the entrance hall, it is best to place a round vase at the entrance to guide the energy in. This will help the energy flow smoothly. Therefore, the front desk should maintain a certain distance from the main door, avoiding the disruption of the spaciousness of the entrance hall. Also, remember that the front desk should not face the main door directly, as this can block the positive energy entering the office area.
(3) Appropriate size
Many companies make the front desk larger to leave a good impression on visitors. In feng shui, the front desk has the role of guarding the entrance, like a guard post protecting the entire company. A larger front desk appears more stable, looks more noble and elegant in appearance, and enhances the company's image in terms of perception. However, due to the need to show quality, the cost of making it is higher than a regular front desk.
The size of the front desk should be determined according to the company's specific industry and scale. Generally, it should be as large as possible within a suitable range, which can highlight the company's nobility and grandeur, helping to build a good corporate image.
For small companies, placing a large front desk in a limited space may make other office areas look cramped and disproportionate. At this time, the front desk design should focus on simplicity and practicality, meeting the needs of the front desk work without affecting the overall aesthetics. The color can be light and bright, which can prevent a dull and cramped feeling in the room.
(4) Style of the front desk
No matter what style the front desk is, it must match the overall decoration style of the company. The design of the front desk should not appear out of place in the entrance hall and must blend into the overall style of the hall. Therefore, when designing the front desk, the first thing to consider is the wall, floor, and surrounding decorations of the entrance hall. Only through proper integration can the feng shui of the entire company be improved.
As the first service area of the company, the front desk directly reflects the company's strength and relates to the overall image of the company in commercial and interpersonal communication. Adding some modern elements to the front desk design can make the company appear more vibrant and full of vitality.
Modern styles can be reflected in different ways, such as using high-quality materials, bright lines, and bold colors. Additionally, appropriate lighting can be added, but it should not be too flashy. Simplicity and elegance should be the main focus.
Although a modern front desk can add charm and luck to the company, it is not suitable for all companies. Some companies related to classical culture should avoid making the front desk too modern and trendy!
