Weishi, also known as Riyi (日昳), is also called Rizuo (日昃), Rizhe (日仄), Rizhe (日侧), Ridié (日跌), and Risia (日斜). It is the eighth of the twelve traditional Chinese hours. It comes before Shen Shi (申时) and after Wu Shi (午时). Riyi refers to the time when the sun is slanting westward, corresponding to 1 PM to 3 PM. During this time, sheep are grazing. Therefore, the zodiac animal associated with Weishi is the sheep.

The belief that "Weishi is an ominous time" stems from the fate of people born during this hour. However, specific matters should be analyzed individually. For example, the auspicious time for moving house or the auspicious day for marriage is determined by calculating the eight characters (Ba Zi), so it is not advisable to generalize that all Weishi times are ominous. In fact, they can also be auspicious times, so it is not objective to simply say that Weishi is always ominous; instead, each matter should be evaluated individually for a more accurate understanding.
Generally, it is believed that people born in Weishi have a lack of relationship with their parents, may have affection without a partner or a partner without affection, are prone to marital disharmony, and lead a life full of labor. Their early years see financial gains, middle years face dangers and difficulties, and later years enjoy wealth and comfort. The specific situations are as follows.
Those born at the beginning of Weishi: have both parents alive, no loss among relatives or siblings, a life full of blessings and prosperity, money comes and goes, and children come late.
Those born in the middle of Weishi: are likely to be hostile toward their mother, have a broad-minded personality and are close to noble people, few brothers to rely on, a strong wife, late children, and a life full of ups and downs, with difficulties first and then ease.
Those born at the end of Weishi: are likely to be hostile toward their father, need a spouse with firmness like gold and stone to live together until old age, fewer children in middle age, and no worries in old age.

It is acceptable to move house during Weishi. For those with a "earth" element, Weishi is an auspicious time for moving house. However, the specific choice should still depend on individual circumstances.
For those with a "metal" element, the auspicious times are Shen Shi and Weishi (1 PM to 3 PM); for those with a "wood" element, the auspicious time is Si Shi (9 AM to 11 AM); for those with a "water" element, the auspicious time is Shen Shi (3 PM to 5 PM); for those with a "fire" element, the auspicious time is Wu Shi; and for those with a "earth" element, the auspicious times are Si Shi and Weishi (9 AM to 11 AM, 1 PM to 3 PM).
