In Fujian, besides eating mooncakes, admiring the moon, and watching lanterns like other places, different regions have their own local customs, such as:1. In Pucheng, there is a custom for women to walk across Nanpu Bridge during the Mid-Autumn Festival, with the purpose of praying for longevity.
2. In Jianning, there is a custom of hanging lanterns on the night of the Mid-Autumn Festival, with the purpose of asking the Moon Palace for children.
3. In Shanghang, there is a custom of inviting the "Moon Goddess" during the Mid-Autumn Festival, and many children would invite the Moon Goddess while worshipping the moon.
4. In Jinmen, it is customary to worship the moon during the Mid-Autumn Festival, but before worshipping the moon, they must first worship the Heaven's Master.
5. In Xiamen, people play "bo bing", which means throwing dice to compare the numbers, where "bing" refers to mooncakes.
6. In northern Fujian, there is a custom of burning a tower, which is said to be related to an act of resistance against Yuan soldiers.

Traditional Foods for the Mid-Autumn Festival
1、MooncakesWhether in the north or south, the custom of eating mooncakes is prevalent throughout the country during the Mid-Autumn Festival, so the festival is also known as the "Mooncake Festival". Moreover, many places have their own special types of mooncakes, but all are round in shape, symbolizing reunion.
2、Taro
In the Chao-Shan area of Guangdong, it is customary to eat taro during the Mid-Autumn Festival. There is a folk saying in Chao-Shan: "When the river meets the mouth, taro can be eaten until full." And August of the lunar calendar is the time when taro is harvested, so farmers usually use taro to worship their ancestors.
3、Crabs
August of the lunar calendar is the season when crabs are fat and abundant, so eating crabs during the Mid-Autumn Festival is very popular. During the Ming Dynasty, it was fashionable to eat crabs in the imperial court. Crabs were wrapped in a bamboo basket and steamed, then enjoyed together by people around a table, accompanied by wine and vinegar, with the fragrant crab aroma spreading everywhere, making it very tempting.
4、Osmanthus Duck
In the Nanjing area, besides eating mooncakes, the famous local dish "Osmanthus Duck" is also a must-have during the Mid-Autumn Festival. The "Osmanthus Duck" is available at the time when osmanthus flowers are fragrant, with a rich yet not greasy flavor, and a delicious taste. After drinking alcohol, it is common to eat a small piece of sweet taro, poured with osmanthus syrup, which is simply delightful.

Additionally, it is a traditional custom to drink osmanthus wine and admire the moon during the Mid-Autumn night. Nowadays, people generally use white spirit or red wine as a substitute.
