"Tree Planting Day" is a holiday established by some countries in the form of law to publicize the benefits of forests and mobilize the public to participate in activities of voluntary afforestation. It can be divided into Tree Planting Day, Tree Planting Week, and Tree Planting Month according to its duration, collectively known as Tree Planting Day. Through this activity, it inspires people's love for forests and their desire to plant trees, enhances people's understanding of the functions of forests, promotes the greening of the country, and achieves the purpose of protecting forests, expanding forest resources, and improving the ecological environment. It is a holiday designated to mobilize the whole nation to plant trees. In 1915, the Chinese government issued an order designating the Qingming Festival as Tree Planting Day, which is March 12th. Later, on April 7th, 1928, the National Government issued a tree planting order: "The traditional Qingming Tree Planting Day should be changed to the anniversary of the late Premier's death." The reason why the National Government issued this order was because Mr. Sun loved "tree cultivation and animal husbandry" since his childhood. When he studied abroad, he often used his holidays to return to his hometown and plant mulberry trees. On February 23rd, 1979, the sixth session of the Standing Committee of the Fifth National People's Congress decided to still use March 12th as China's Tree Planting Day, encouraging all ethnic groups across the country to plant trees and forests, greening the motherland, improving the environment, and benefiting future generations.
