What is the Sangzhe Wood (桑柘木) destiny?
"Sangzhe Wood" is a type of Wood (Mu) destiny in the Five Elements. In the sixty Jiazi (干支) system, it corresponds to the years of Ren Zi (壬子) and Gui Chou (癸丑)."Sangzhe Wood" provides food for silkworms, and is the foundation of silk, brocade, and satin. It loves sandy earth, which can serve as its root; followed by road soil and great post soil, while other types of earth are not useful. It most prefers the rain and dew from Heavenly River Water (天河水), and also benefits from Long Flowing Water (长流), Stream Water (溪涧), and Well Spring Water (井泉), but must have earth as its foundation. Sea Water (大海水) is too strong and can cause drifting without a place to return. If there is no earth in the destiny and it meets this water, it may lead to an early death. The Fire of Covering Light (覆灯火) is the most auspicious, because the hours of Chen and Si (辰巳) are where silkworms eat. Furnace Fire (炉中火) has the hours of Yin and Mao (寅卯), which are the birth and prosperity areas for wood. Meeting it is also auspicious. The two types of fire from Heaven (天上) and Thunder (霹雳) can form a harmonious and transformative situation, and have the wonderful balance of water and fire, so meeting them is always auspicious, but fire should not appear excessively. Among all types of metal, Ren Zi and Gui Chou's Sangzhe Wood is most auspicious when meeting Sand Metal (砂中金), and Sword Edge Metal (剑锋金) can trim this wood, so it is also auspicious. If there is no earth in the Sangzhe Wood destiny, meeting Flat Land Wood (平地木) and Pomegranate Wood (石榴木) is harmful. Large Forest Wood (大林木) has the hours of Chen and Si, which are the southeast area where silkworms eat. If the Sangzhe Wood destiny has earth to support it, and then meets this wood, it will certainly become very prosperous. Meeting Willow Wood (杨柳木) is called "Sangzhe and Willow forming a forest," which is also an auspicious configuration, but it must be born in spring or summer to be beneficial.
