Countless long and short lines crisscross across the palm. While some people have only a few prominent lines, others have so many that they cannot be counted individually. Each of these patterns has a name and carries specific significance.

Life Line: This line begins between the index finger and thumb, curves around the Mount of Venus, and descends in an arc.

Head Line (Intellect Line): Starting roughly from the same point as the Life Line, this is the long horizontal or slightly downward-sloping line.
Heart Line: The line that starts above the Head Line and extends all the way down to beneath the little finger.

Destiny Line (Career Line): A line extending from the wrist down to beneath the middle finger.

Success Line (Sun Line): Beginning at the wrist, it may extend all the way to below the ring finger or terminate above the Mount of the Sun.

Marriage Line: A horizontal line located on the Mount of Mercury beneath the little finger.

Venus Band: An arc beginning between the index and middle fingers and extending across to between the ring and little fingers.

Interpretation of the Life Line

The Life Line not only reflects longevity, health condition, susceptibility to illness or sudden accidents, but also serves as a guide for preventing misfortune and enhancing well-being.

A long, deep, clear, unbroken Life Line with a faint red hue indicates excellent health and longevity. However, those who indulge in overeating due to good physical health may shorten their lifespan.

A short Life Line suggests a straightforward and down-to-earth personality, yet one prone to timidity.

Due to weaker constitution, such individuals may suffer frequent illnesses, though this does not necessarily imply a short life—often they lead lives marked by dissatisfaction and instability.

A highly curved Life Line indicates frequent changes in residence and unstable living conditions; such people often have opportunities to travel overseas.

Branches stemming from the Life Line suggest a household splitting into two separate homes, symbolizing dual family lives.

A Life Line composed of small, ladder-like lines indicates poor health and heightened vulnerability to serious diseases.

Even if both hands show short Life Lines, if other major lines are deep and clear, premature death is unlikely. Though illness may occur frequently, recovery tends to be swift.

A forked pattern at the end of the Life Line is a warning to pay special attention to daily habits—or it may indicate plans to leave one’s homeland and settle abroad.

Numerous disconnected, chain-like marks along the Life Line signify a naturally weak constitution and chronic illness, particularly due to a fragile digestive system and internal organs.
