Palmistry (English: palm) has three origins, namely Western, Indian and Chinese. It has a long history and has developed into the complex and comprehensive system it is today. It uses hand shapes and hand lines to determine the fortune and misfortune of one's life. Since the thickness and patterns of the hands change over time, one can also explore past events and predict future fortunes by observing changes in the hand lines. A good hand line allows us to prepare in advance for good fortune, while a deteriorating hand line enables us to take preventive measures beforehand. 1. The meaning and position of various lines on the palm
1. Life Line — represents a person's vitality and physical strength. If this line is broken, too short, or has an obstacle line invading, then one should pay attention to their health.
2. Head Line — also known as the brain line or intelligence line, it is a very important line in the hand lines. This line represents good fortune and progress. This line not only represents intelligence but also the ability to control life.
3. Love Line — also called the love line, it includes emotional fluctuations, mental state, and also covers the mood of happiness, anger, joy, and sorrow. Of course, love between the sexes must be judged from here.
4. Destiny Line — also known as the Career Line, this line determines one's achievements in society. A clear and strong line indicates that one will have good luck and a promising career development.
5. Sun Line — this line represents the luck of being liked or gaining fame. A clear line indicates that one will have a bright future and achieve great fame.
6. Wealth Line — the prosperity of the wealth line can be judged. Even if the line is short, if it is clear like a needle, it indicates good fortune.
7. Marriage Line — this line determines various issues with the opposite sex, such as the fate of marriage or family life (especially marital life).
8. Hope Line — this line determines whether there is hope for a breakthrough. People with this line have a strong future.
9. Mercury Band — represents sensitivity towards the opposite sex. A broken and interrupted line indicates strong emotions towards the opposite sex.
10. Health Line — as the name suggests, this line represents the health status.
11. Indulgence Line — represents the weakness of the body and mind. People with this line live an irregular life.
12. Wrist Line — people with three wrist lines will live long. This line determines longevity.
2. The parts of the palm and their meanings
When reading the palm lines, the parts of the palm are very important. In palmistry, these parts are called "mounts." A mount is a thick and raised area on the palm. Each mount has different names and meanings, similar to the lines. Evaluating the mounts requires a comprehensive and balanced assessment of their height, thickness, and size. The countless lines on the palm connect from one mount to another, and understanding the meaning of the mounts is very useful when reading the palm lines.
1. Mars Mount — this is where all the overall fortunes are observed. It is located in the depressed part in the center of the palm. This is an important part of forming the central triangle of the palm, representing the area of life struggle, and is also related to the ups and downs of fortune. In addition to Mars, there are also the first Mars Mount and the second Mars Mount, which both represent the area of life struggle, especially representing competition and opponents.
2. First Mars Mount — below the Jupiter Mount, it controls energy, fighting spirit, and drive.
3. Second Mars Mount — below the Mercury Mount, it contrasts with the first Mars Mount and represents self-control and self-defense power.
4. Venus Mount — around the base of the thumb, it assesses health, longevity, and physical strength, and is also the area representing love. If the area is too large or the muscles are too full, it indicates a tendency to be overly sentimental. Conversely, if the area is too small or the muscles are flat, it indicates a cold marital life.
5. Jupiter Mount — directly under the index finger, it represents leadership, ambition, reputation, and also represents career development or hopes for family life in the future.
6. Saturn Mount — directly under the middle finger, it represents patience, judgment, and the more developed it is, the stronger the perseverance. It also represents one's own stance or situation.
7. Mercury Mount — the fleshy area directly under the little finger, representing business talent, commerce, expression, and social interaction, as well as wisdom and money.
8. Sun Mount — the Sun Mount directly under the ring finger represents popularity, reputation, and art.
9. Moon Mount — the upper part of the wrist, directly under the little finger, representing sensitivity to art and creation, as well as spiritual power and mood.
All these mounts are considered auspicious if they are muscular and have a fresh and warm color.
1. The Method of Calculating Age:
A person's life is full of ups and downs. When will the fortune be prosperous, and when will it be low? It depends on the palm lines at that time, i.e., the palm lines indicate that the fortune changes with the period. The Eastern method of observation (face reading and palm reading) is called the "annual method," which is an appropriate term.
There are age numbers next to the life line and destiny line. When the numbers change, it indicates that the person will experience a change in fortune during that age.
1、Life Line and Age: Starting from the bottom of the index finger until the wrist. Note that the older the person is, the closer the intervals will be. (Figure 1)
2、Destiny Line and Age: It is the opposite of the Life Line, starting from the wrist to the root of the middle finger. (Figure 2)
2. Things to Note When Reading Palm Lines:
When reading palm lines, should we look at the left or right hand? Previously, it was based on the principle that men read the left hand and women read the right hand. However, modern palmistry considers comparing both hands. It believes that the left hand represents the innate fate at birth, while the right hand represents the fate from the present to the future. Comparing both hands is regarded as one hand representing the cause and the other representing the result.
Therefore, the more differences between the left and right hands, the more complex the personality, and the more changes in fortune.
1. Love Line: (Figure 1)
The Love Line is also called the Love Line, representing the degree of love or hatred between lovers or spouses, as well as the fluctuation of emotions, and also represents various emotional states such as happiness, anger, joy, and sorrow. It can also show whether the marital fortune is good or bad. This line is very important in palmistry.
When it comes to marriage, most people believe that it only appears on the Marriage Line. However, the Love Line, which is second to the Marriage Line, represents the good or bad fortune between couples or between the opposite sex. This line starts from the lower side of the little finger and extends towards the index finger, but the end of this line may touch the middle finger, the index finger, or connect with the Head Line, presenting various forms of lines. Each form has different meanings.
While the Life Line and Destiny Line are considered good if they are straight and unbroken, the Love Line is considered good if it has branches like a chain, because such a line indicates emotional depth, changes in emotions, and a more artistic temperament, leading to a happy and fulfilling life. If the Love Line is a single, straight line like a wire, it indicates simple emotions, poor feelings, or expressions, making a dull and uninteresting person.
2. Observing the Love Line in conjunction with other lines: (Figure 2)
When reading the Love Line, it is necessary to refer to the Head Line, because the Love Line represents emotional changes stemming from instinct, while the Head Line represents the wise purification of emotion. In other words, the emotional aspects in morality, society, and life are represented by the Head Line.
If the Love Line is unusually developed, but the Head Line cannot balance it, it results in a person who is emotionally driven and spoiled. On the contrary, if the Head Line is strong and the Love Line is weak, it results in a dull and boring person. The Love Line and the Head Line must be examined for their strength, and in terms of length, these two lines are approximately equal in length.
