Health is the most important thing in life. Without a healthy body, everything else is just empty talk. Now let's look at your health from your hand lines.

  I. People with a Balanced Constitution ——

  The palms are warm, the skin is moist and has a luster, the color of the fingers and palm is slightly red and yellow, with a faint red tinge and luster. From the joint of the fingers to the tips should be smooth, gradually tapering.

  The lengths and thicknesses of the five fingers have certain proportions and rules:

  The thumb is the thickest, the little finger is the thinnest, and the other three fingers have similar thicknesses;

  The little finger may be short, but it should not be shorter than the transverse crease at the end of the ring finger;

  The five fingers are full, smooth, flexible, and strong;

  There are no visible veins on the palms and fingers, and the veins on the back of the hands are not swollen or protruding.

  II. People with Yin Deficiency Constitution ——

  The biggest characteristic is that the temperature of the palm is higher than that of the back of the hand, often feeling heat in the palm, even burning hot.

  The color of the palm is slightly red.

  The palms and fingers are long and thin.

  Some people have the last segment of the middle finger bending towards the little finger, and the skin on the palm and back of the hand is dry and prone to cracking.

  III. People with Damp-Heat Constitution ——

  The biggest feature is that the hands are always warm and moist. People with this constitution mostly have square-shaped palms, i.e., the length of the palm horizontally and vertically are roughly the same or differ slightly.

  The fingers are thick and sturdy.

  After middle age, they tend to have excessive sweating on the palms, sticky sweat, dark red palms, and overly full knuckles, which are signs of hyperlipidemia or diabetes.

  IV. People with Qi Deficiency Constitution ——

  The biggest feature is softness and weakness; the muscles of the fingers and palms are not full, and the elasticity is poor, especially the big fleshy part of the thumb.

  The degree of fullness and the extent of poor elasticity are proportional to the severity of the qi deficiency. After fatigue, the elasticity becomes worse and the luster diminishes.

  Another feature is that the shape of the thumb is not straight, and the base of the thumb becomes thinner.

  Some people have the last segment of the middle finger bending towards the little finger.

  The different areas where the elasticity decreases indicate different causes of qi deficiency. For example,

  Weakened elasticity in the thumb indicates lung qi deficiency;

  Weakened elasticity in the big fleshy part indicates stomach qi deficiency;

  If the small fleshy part is not full, it suggests kidney qi deficiency.

  V. People with Blood Stasis Constitution ——

  The biggest feature is that the palm is dark red or bluish, and the veins on the palms and fingers are prominent.

  The color of the fingertips is dark red, forming a clear contrast with the rest of the fingers. In severe cases, the entire palm and fingers are dark red and lack luster, indicating high blood viscosity or microcirculation disorders.

  The color of the palm lines is dark and not rosy. In severe cases, the skin of the palm becomes dry and cracked.

  VI. People with Phlegm-Damp Constitution ——

  The biggest feature is that the skin on the back of the hand and the palm has excessive oil secretion, and the palm shape is usually thick and the palm color is dark.

  Or the hand shape has no obvious features, but the palms tend to sweat, and some people's sweat is sticky.

  VII. People with Qi Stagnation Constitution ——

  The biggest feature is that the bases of the middle finger and ring finger become thin and narrow.

  In severe cases, the palm color turns blue or yellow without luster. The color in the liver area of the palm is dark blue (the triangle area formed by the intersection of the Life Line and Head Line, directly below the space between the index and middle finger).

  The thinning and narrowing of the bases of the middle finger and ring finger also indicate imbalance in the liver and gallbladder, insufficient liver blood, and stagnation of liver qi. This hand shape is commonly seen in people with a qi stagnation constitution.

  VIII. People with Special Constitution ——

  The biggest feature is the large individual differences, and there is no obvious regularity in changes in hand shape and color.

  Some people have thin and long fingers, and their hand skin is dry or their palms are excessively sweaty.

  Normal hand shape: The center of the palm is concave, while the surrounding muscles are full and higher than the center. The big and small fleshy parts and the muscles around the knuckles are full and elastic. All fingers are smooth, and when brought together, there are no gaps at the bases.

  IX. People with Yang Deficiency Constitution ——

  The biggest feature is low temperature; the whole hand feels cold, and the hand temperature is lower than that of others all year round.

  They feel cold easily, the palm color is pale, and the luster is poor.

  The palm is thin, the palm shape and the big and small fleshy parts are not full, and the elasticity is poor. The fingers are thin and long.

  Some people have a thinner base of the thumb, and the little finger is short, thin, or bent.

Recommendation: The goodness or badness of the constitution is also very important in the later stages. If someone has a good physique but spends their days indulging in excess, without paying attention, their body will inevitably suffer. On the contrary, if you pay attention to your body and take care of it, your health will gradually improve.
