Zheng Guo, from the State of Han during the Warring States period, was a hydraulic engineer and water official of the Han state.

Zheng Ji (c. 104 BCE – 49 BCE), from Huiji (now Wu County, Jiangsu), was a soldier who served in the Western Han dynasty. He frequently went to the Western Regions. During the reign of Emperor Xuan of Han, he was appointed as a chamberlain, leading troops to cultivate land in Quli. Due to his success in mobilizing the armies of various Western Regions states to attack the state of Che Shi, he was promoted to the position of military commander and was entrusted with guarding the route from Shanshan to the southwest.

Zheng Daozhao (455–516), a poet and calligrapher of the Northern Dynasties, also known as "the Master of Mount Zhongyue." His courtesy name was Xi Bo. He was from Yingyang Kaifeng (now part of Henan). He was the youngest son of Zheng Xi, a minister of the Northern Wei dynasty.

Zheng Qian (691–759), with the courtesy names Qu Ting and Ruozhi (also known as Ruozhai), was from Rongze, Yingtai, Henan. He is recorded in the "New Book of Tang" Volume 202. A renowned literary figure, poet, and painter of the early Tang dynasty, he was also an expert in astronomy, geography, natural history, military strategy, and medicine, regarded as a comprehensive scholar of his time. The poet sage Du Fu praised him as "the most outstanding scholar of Yingyang" and "his writings are widely spread."

Zheng Maishi, also known as Zheng Chang, was the founder of the Great Longhe Kingdom and the seventh-generation descendant of Zheng Hui. His family had long served as a chief minister (Chingpingguan) of the Nanzhao Kingdom. He held positions such as Grand Secretary and Prime Minister. In 897 (the fourth year of Qining during the reign of Emperor Zhao Zong of the Tang dynasty), he killed the Nanzhao Emperor Longshun with the help of Yang Deng, a close minister of the Nanzhao. In 902 (the second year of Tianshou during the reign of Emperor Zhao Zong of the Tang dynasty), he killed Emperor Longshun's son Shunhuazhen (the Emperor Xiaoaie) and eight hundred members of the Nanzhao royal family, then seized power and established the Great Longhe Kingdom, taking the title of "Holy Brightness, Literary and Martial Sovereign, Powerful and Virtuous Emperor," and establishing the era name "An Guo."

Zheng Guangzu, whose birth and death years are unknown, with the courtesy name Dehui, was a Han Chinese from Xiangling, Pingyang (now Xiangfen County, Shanxi). He was a famous playwright and composer of the Yuan dynasty. His plays were well-known and highly acclaimed at the time. Alongside Guan Hanqing, Ma Zhiyuan, and Bai Pu, he is collectively known as the "Four Great Masters of Yuan Drama."

Zheng He (1371–1433), originally named Ma Sanbao, was born into a noble family in Yunnan. He was a great navigator of the Ming dynasty.

Zheng Chenggong (August 27, 1624 – June 23, 1662) was a famous general and national hero of the late Ming dynasty who resisted the Qing dynasty in the 17th century. His original name was Shen, with the courtesy name Mingyan. As a child, he was called Fusan. Because he was granted the imperial surname Zhu by Emperor Longwu, he was given the name Chenggong, and thus was commonly known as "Uncle of the Imperial Surname."

Zheng Banqiao (1693–1765), a government official, painter, and literary figure of the Qing dynasty, with the name Xie and the courtesy name Kero. He was a Han Chinese from Xinghua, Jiangsu. Most of his life was spent in Yangzhou, making a living by selling paintings. He was one of the "Eight Eccentrics of Yangzhou."

Zheng Fuguang (1780–approximately 1853): a famous scientist of the Qing dynasty. His courtesy names were Yuangu and Hanxiang. He was from She County, Anhui. He was proficient in mathematics, physics, and mechanical manufacturing.

Zheng Shiliang: (1863–1901), from Guishan, Guangdong (now Huizhou), was a man with great ambitions and a strong sense of justice. He learned martial arts from elders in his hometown and made many friends among the Hung Men (a secret society). He joined the Sanhe Hui (Three Harmonies Society). After graduating in 1886, he studied at the Nanhua School attached to the Boji Hospital and became a classmate of Sun Yat-sen. The two formed a deep friendship and planned together for the revolution against the Qing. When discussing political affairs with Sun Yat-sen, Lu Haodong, and Cheng Biguang, Sun Yat-sen entrusted him with organizing the secret societies and connecting with the garrisons.

Zheng Wanjun, a renowned forest scientist, tree taxonomist, and forestry educator, was one of the pioneers of modern forestry in China. He had profound expertise in botany, publishing four new genera and over 100 new species of trees, many of which were rare endemic species in China.

Zheng Zhenwo, a prominent patriotic figure and social activist in modern China, was also a famous writer, scholar, literary critic, literary historian, translator, art historian, and a well-known collector and philologist both domestically and internationally.
