To be able to analyze the auspiciousness or inauspiciousness of a name through the Gili method, it is first necessary to determine the five grids' Five Elements. When identifying the numerical properties of the Five Elements, only count numbers 1-10. For numbers over 10, remove the tens place and keep only the ones place, reducing them back to numbers 1-10. If the ones place is 0, it is counted as 10. The Five Elements are divided based on the numerical properties: 1 and 2 are Wood; 3 and 4 are Fire; 5 and 6 are Earth; 7 and 8 are Metal; 9 and 10 are Water.

Personality determines destiny. The Five Grids analysis method can also be used to analyze the personality of the person named in the name. Personality analysis is also based on the Five Elements' generation and control relationships:

Wood generates Fire: Strong emotions, extremely enthusiastic, not long-lasting, extreme love and hate, limited social circle.

Fire generates Earth: Gentle and kind, rich in social skills, polite and considerate, generous and charitable, more spending than saving.

Earth generates Metal: Passive and low-spirited, kind and upright, lacking in initiative, not good at speculation, no extravagant expectations.

Metal generates Water: Bright and cheerful, full of wit, not fond of socializing, chivalrous and righteous, not self-serving.

Water generates Wood: Strong sense of perception, deep understanding, full of passion, prone to fantasy, ignoring reality.

Wood controls Earth: Unstable, strong curiosity, pursuing new things, wise and cultured, lacking in harmony.

Fire controls Metal: Strong will, patient and hardworking, stubborn and impulsive, strong counteraction, easily influenced.

Earth controls Water: Materialistic thinking, opposing religion, shallow observation, poor words and deeds, inconsistency inside and out.

Metal controls Wood: Stubborn, not good at socializing, rich in meaning and righteousness, strong counteraction, with initiative.

Water controls Fire: Rough and intense, strong competitiveness, opposing religion, overly sensitive, competitive and unyielding.
