Tianyun and the Five Elements of Tianyun
Tianyun, Renyun, and Diyun are terms in traditional Chinese culture, and they are the main elements of the guiding principles of medicine and numerology.
In different schools of Yijing numerology, Tianyun has different meanings.
In the study of Feng Shui, Tianyun refers to the concept of the Three Periods and Nine Phases!
In the Five-Grid Analysis method of name studies, Tianyun refers to the "Heavenly Element," not the "Day Master's Heavenly Stem" as mentioned in some copied articles online.
What is the Five Elements of Tianyun in Name Studies?
In name studies, Tianyun refers to the "Heavenly Element." The Heavenly Element is calculated by adding 1 to the number of strokes in your surname. The surname is inherited from ancestors.
If the Five Elements of Tianyun are "Water," it means that after adding 1 to the number of strokes in the surname, the last digit is 0 or 9. For example, "Zhou" has 8 strokes. After adding 1 stroke, it becomes 9 strokes, which belongs to Water.
If the Five Elements of Tianyun are "Wood," it means that after adding 1 to the number of strokes in the surname, the last digit is 1 or 2. For example, "Zhang" has 11 strokes. After adding 1 stroke, it becomes 12 strokes, which belongs to Wood.
The rest follow the same logic.
1 represents Yang Wood, 2 represents Yin Wood, 3 represents Yang Fire, 4 represents Yin Fire, 5 represents Yang Earth, 6 represents Yin Earth, 7 represents Yang Metal, 8 represents Yin Metal, 9 represents Yang Water, and 10 represents Yin Water.
