Liangqiu Ju
A minister of the State of Qi during the Spring and Autumn period, who was highly trusted by the ruler of Qi, Duke Jing of Qi. After finding the place called Liangqiu Mountain, he settled there. From then on, his descendants took the name Liangqiu as their surname, hence becoming the ancestral founder of the Liangqiu surname.
Liangqiu He
A high-ranking official of the Western Han dynasty, the founder of the "Liangqiu School" of the "Book of Changes" (Zhouyi). His given name was Changweng, from Zhu in Langya Prefecture (now Zhucheng City, Shandong Province). He studied the "Book of Changes" under Jing Fang and deeply understood this profound book, earning great praise from his teacher. He also studied the "Book of Changes" with Shi Chou and Meng Xi under the disciple of Tian He, Tian Wangsun. Later, the court asked Jing Fang to recommend a student to serve in the government, and Jing Fang recommended Liangqiu He. He served as a Grand Doctor, an attendant, and eventually reached the position of Chief of the Imperial Treasury. During the reign of Emperor Xuandi, he was appointed as a doctoral scholar. His writings have been lost, but the Qing scholar Ma Guohai's "Yuhan Shanfang Jiyi Shu" (Collected Lost Books of Yuhuan Mountain House) has compiled one volume titled "Zhouyi Liangqiu Shi Juzhu" (Commentary on the Zhouyi by Liangqiu).
Liangqiu Lin
A native of Zhu in Langya Prefecture (now Zhucheng City, Shandong Province) during the Western Han dynasty, son of Liangqiu He. He studied the "Book of Changes" from his father and served as a eunuch official. In the Ganlu era, he once went to the Stone Channel to consult with scholars. He had a deep understanding of the "Book of Changes" and strictly followed the methods of Jing Fang. He held the position of Chief of the Imperial Treasury, and his studies were passed on to Wu Lu Chongzong and Xie Wangjun, making him an important inheritor of the Han dynasty's Liangqiu school of the "Book of Changes."
