What Are the Taboos of Home Feng Shui in Chinese-Style Residences?

Nowadays, most houses are decorated in a Western style, but some people still prefer to keep the traditional Chinese interior design. What should be noted in Chinese-style decoration? What are the taboos of Chinese-style decoration?

Taboo 1

The balcony should not face the kitchen directly, as this is considered "penetrating the heart," which weakens the family's gathering function. It may lead to the husband having an affair, the wife being unfaithful, and children not returning home.
Solution: Install a trellis with climbing plants or place potted plants to separate the inside and outside. Alternatively, you can install a soundproofing panel as a barrier. The curtain of the balcony's sliding door should be kept closed, or cabinets or screens can be placed between the balcony and kitchen area for concealment, ensuring that the balcony does not directly face the kitchen.

Taboo 2

In addition to the interior of the building, the exterior decoration is also important. Some people add protruding objects such as human heads on the outer surface of the house, which look like tumors on the house. Such negative external decorations should be avoided in feng shui.

Taboo 3

If the balcony faces the front door or kitchen directly, keep the curtains closed for a long time to block it.
The entrance should not be directly aligned with the balcony, as this is known as "penetrating the heart," which makes it difficult for the family to accumulate wealth and leads to frequent financial losses.
Solution: Place a foyer cabinet to block the space between the front door and the balcony. A fish tank can be placed at the entrance (but not for those who are incompatible with water, in which case a screen can be used instead). You can also install a window on the balcony to block it, or plant potted plants and climbing plants. Keeping the curtains closed for a long time is also a feasible solution.

Taboo 4

In feng shui, the location of the toilet is very important. If the house is divided into nine equal parts, the central part is the "central palace" of the house. The toilet should not be located in the central palace, known as "toilet occupying the central palace," which is bad for the family's fortune and health.
Solution: If the toilet is already located in the central palace, try swapping the sink and toilet, or keep water in the bathtub for a long time to improve the situation.

Taboo 5

Family plants should be selected with broad-leafed plants, avoiding cacti with sharp leaves, which can cause verbal disputes.
Family plants should also be carefully chosen. Avoid planting plants with narrow leaves, as this may lead to verbal conflicts. Ferns and ivy-like plants should also be avoided, as they are more yin in nature. If they grow vigorously, they may bring "unclean" things into the house.
Solution: Choose plants with broad leaves or strong vitality flowers.
