People spend a lot of time in their homes during their lives, and the feng shui of a home is very important, greatly affecting people. What kind of feng shui is considered good for a home? What are the rules and considerations?

1. Irregular House Shape

Now it's hard to find designers who have received professional training in geometric composition, so they often use slanted lines or irregular geometric compositions as the basic elements for residential layouts. However, art is not life, and creative passion cannot replace the discomfort of reality. No matter which room in the house, once it is irregular, it feels uncomfortable. The most annoying thing is an irregular layout in the living room, which can lead to family members being unable to conceive, having narrow-mindedness, and suffering from accidents. If the bedroom has obvious tilting, long-term residence can easily lead to depression, mental illnesses, narrow-mindedness, and accidental injuries. The disasters are not as severe as those caused by triangular shapes in the living room.
A clearly irregular house is also inconvenient to use, making furniture arrangement difficult. When selling second-hand houses, such properties are usually priced twenty percent lower than similar houses in the same area, resulting in both loss of money and people.

2. Kitchen in the Northwest Corner

The location of the kitchen and bathroom plays a major role in indoor feng shui. If the kitchen's position is bad, it will surely bring disaster. Usually, the best location for the kitchen is in the southeast corner, which is related to children's academic success. If the kitchen is in the southeast, children will be smart, enjoy learning, and be innovative, especially beneficial for girls. If the child is born in the years of the dragon, snake, pig, or dog, it is even better. Houses with kitchens in this position have a 99% chance of producing successful individuals. The next best location for the kitchen is the east side, known as "burning east, not west." Burning east brings a noble son, while burning west brings a foolish one. A kitchen located in the east side makes the son more likely to succeed, with a high probability of becoming a college student. The east side corresponds to the trigram Zhen (the eldest son), representing career, official fortune, and auspicious people. A kitchen in the east side brings strong yang energy, making the son wealthy and honored.
A kitchen in the northeast is considered a marginal position. It is neither lucky nor unlucky, but long-term residence leads to a monotonous and uneventful life.
The worst location for a kitchen is the northwest corner. The northwest corresponds to the trigram Kun (the old father), representing official fortune, longevity, and intelligence. A kitchen in the northwest corner brings excessive yang energy. Since the northwest is the "Heaven Gate," having a kitchen there is like "fire burning the Heaven Gate." Living in such a house for more than twenty years may cause one of the couple to live beyond the age of sixty, with a high probability of stroke or heart disease. The children may be dull, and they will struggle to achieve anything in the future. If the kitchen is in the northwest corner and the bathroom is in the east, the family rarely experiences peace. It may result in divorce, injury, or early death. Many modern houses have such layouts. It would be best for designers to live in such layouts for about ten years to truly experience the positive and negative effects.

3. Number of Openings

The term "openings" refers to the number of rooms facing the direction of the living room, not the total number of rooms in the house. Typically, the kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, living room, and storage room each count as one opening. The ideal number of openings is three or five. According to feng shui principles: a house with one opening is dangerous, two openings are barely usable, three openings ensure long-lasting family prosperity, four openings may lead to early death, and five openings bring wealth and prosperity. Among three-opening and five-opening houses, the best layout is when the living room is in the middle opening, ensuring long-term luck, descendants' success, and both prosperity and offspring.

4. Too Many Stairs Inside

To meet the needs of design, some designers create stairs inside the house, such as three steps down to the living room, two steps up to the dining room. While this looks creative on paper, it is really uncomfortable to live with. Families with children or elderly people will particularly understand how unpleasant this is.
The floor level inside the house should be flat without undulations, otherwise the family's fortune will fluctuate. Especially for wealthy families, any setbacks will make it difficult to recover.

5. Large Missing Angles

A house is an organic Taijic whole, and a complete Taijic body is in line with feng shui. When a particular direction of this Taijic body shows a noticeable missing angle, it signals bad omens. In rural homesteads or villas, a damaged foundation causes even greater disasters. In urban residential units, a missing angle has a relatively smaller impact. Missing angles are generally divided into virtual and real. A virtual missing angle means the missing part is empty, while a real missing angle means the missing part is filled with structures. The house's east, southeast, southwest, and north directions are most afraid of virtual missing angles, while real missing angles are not as harmful. The northwest, west, northeast, and south directions prefer virtual missing angles, and are most afraid of real missing angles. Overall, missing angles in urban residential layouts usually do not cause significant feng shui damage.

6. Wall Corners Facing the House

Wall corners facing the house are a major feng shui taboo. Long-term residence can cause harm, leading to knife wounds, accidents, and bloodshed. However, one must learn to distinguish between true and false wall corner attacks. The essence of a wall corner attack is a wind flow created by a wall surface. If the vertical line of the wall extends directly to your home, it means the wall corner is attacking your home. If the vertical line does not reach your home, then the attack is only an illusion. Wall corners are most feared when they face the main door or windows of the house, especially the windows of the living room, which can cause serious problems. Long-term residence may lead to poor eyesight, heart problems, and financial loss.
