Application of the Wealth Position
According to the Eight House School theory, the wealth position is at the diagonal opposite of the entrance. Therefore, you can place an aquarium (fish tank), potted plants, etc., in this position to adjust the magnetic field of the house. Except for cases where the wealth position has a door and the layout is not broken, it is unnecessary to install a fish tank to activate the wealth energy, as opening the door and entering and exiting can naturally bring in the wealth energy.
If the wealth position is at a wall corner with a door that leads directly outside, then this house's wealth position is considered broken. Because the wealth position requires "protecting wind and gathering energy," it is suitable to be at a right angle to gather and receive energy. Sloped angles, corridors, doors, irregular shapes, etc., are unsuitable. Additionally, beams, column corners, and windows are also unfavorable for wealth energy. Therefore, if the wealth position is weak, it must be strengthened.
The wealth position should be bright to show a lively atmosphere. In addition to the above, it is forbidden to place cooking utensils to disperse the energy.
If there is no appropriate space to place the fish tank at the wealth position, it can be placed in an empty space of a cabinet or wall cabinet, or in a recess. These should be installed on auspicious days.
Using a black background helps enhance the effectiveness of various deities, and makes the fish look more comfortable. Why not do it? Here, I have a few suggestions for those who place their fish tanks against a mud wall. Please try to find some background to cover the mud wall behind the fish tank. Why? Because deities and people are similar. For example, if a person feels hot and sleeps on the ground, they will gradually be affected by the so-called negative energy from the ground, which will drain your luck and blessings. Similarly, avoid letting the background of the fish tank be empty, especially when it is against the wall!
Things to remember when installing "feng shui fish";
1. Feng shui fish should not be directly facing a deity image;
2. The fish tank should not face the kitchen stove;
3. Feng shui fish should not be placed too high (higher than a person's head), and the water should not exceed chest level, otherwise it may cause disasters or illness.
Five principles to note when keeping fish:
First, do not create "overhead water" or "drenched water," meaning the water level of the fish tank should not exceed the average person's height (over 190 cm). This will hinder the family's fortune and create pressure.
Second, do not create "cutting feet water," which means placing the fish tank directly on the floor without raising it. This placement will block the arrival of good people and cause financial misfortune.
Third, the shape of the fish tank should not have sharp corners. It is particularly bad if the fish tank is shaped like a triangle, which can lead to disputes and even accidents. A round, oval, or square shape is considered auspicious for wealth.
Fourth, there is knowledge in keeping fish in the fish tank. Goldfish are best for attracting wealth, while black fish are suitable only for special professions (such as soldiers and scholars). Generally, black fish tend to attract trouble and negative people, which is not beneficial for wealth. The number of fish also varies according to one's birth sign, as follows:
Rat, Pig: 1 or 6
Snake, Horse: 2 or 7
Monkey, Chicken: 4 or 9 or 5
Dragon, Dog, Ox, Sheep: 5, 10, 4, 9
Fifth, the fish tank should not be placed in the kitchen or bathroom, as it may cause disputes and eye problems; placing it at the back of the house is also bad, as it is considered "leaking wealth water." It is best to place it in the living room, which is called "bright water," while placing it in the bedroom may lead to strange illnesses and is not advisable.
The most auspicious direction for placing a fish tank this year is the southwest of the major movement, followed by the east. It is also a "good person's water." If placed in the study, it should be in the southeast corner to enhance the literary energy, known as "intelligence water." Keeping fish to promote wealth is relatively common, but there are several things to note:
1. The shape of the fish tank.
2. The number of fish.
3. The color of the fish.
Below are detailed analyses of these key points, providing references for those planning to keep fish to promote wealth.
(1) The Shape of the Fish Tank and the Five Elements
1. A round fish tank belongs to the Metal element, which can enhance the Water element, making it a lucky symbol.
2. A rectangular fish tank belongs to the Wood element, which may weaken the Water energy, but since it has a mutual generation relationship, it can still be used.
3. A square fish tank belongs to the Earth element, which can control the Water element. Therefore, it is not advisable to choose a square fish tank with the Earth element.
4. A hexagonal fish tank, with six as the number of Water, belongs to the Water element and can be used.
5. Triangular, octagonal, or multi-sided fish tanks belong to the Fire element, which conflicts with Water, so they are not suitable for promoting wealth in the wealth position.
According to the above analysis of the Five Elements, the most auspicious shapes are rectangular, round, and hexagonal, which are beneficial for promoting wealth in the wealth position. We hope everyone pays attention when choosing a fish tank.
(2) Number of Fish Kept
Some people may ask what kind of fish is best to keep. Let me mention here that it is better to keep fish that are strong in vitality and easy to maintain. Generally, people keep goldfish because they have strong vitality and are easy to care for.
So, is there a rule for the number of fish to keep? Usually, we use the Luoshu numbers to match the number of fish.
1 fish - One White Water, which can enhance wealth.
2 fish - Two Black Earth, which controls Water, not beneficial for wealth.
3 fish - Three Green Wood, which leaks Water, not beneficial for wealth.
4 fish - Four Green Wood, although it leaks Water, four green is the Literary Star, considered auspicious.
5 fish - Five Yellow Earth, which controls Water, not beneficial for wealth.
6 fish - Six White Metal, which generates Water, beneficial for wealth.
7 fish - Seven Red Metal, although it is a malevolent star, it has a mutual generation relationship, so it is considered auspicious.
8 fish - Eight White Earth, which controls Water, but eight white is the Left Assistant Star, a fortunate star.
9 fish - Nine Purple Fire, but Right Assist Star, a fortunate star, which can enhance wealth.
More than 10 fish, subtract the whole number, for example, 20 fish are treated as 2 fish, 15 fish are treated as 5 fish.
(3) Fish Color
The color of the fish has some influence on the power of promoting wealth. Therefore, when choosing fish, we should also pay attention to this:
Fish colors that are golden or white belong to the Metal element, which can generate Water, thus having a stronger power to promote wealth.
Fish colors that are black, blue, or gray belong to the Water element, which can enhance wealth and have a strong power to promote wealth.
Fish colors that are green or blue-green belong to the Wood element, which leaks Water, and thus has a weaker power to promote wealth.
Fish colors that are yellow or brown belong to the Earth element, which controls Water, and thus has a weak power to promote wealth.
The fish tank must not be placed behind the sofa: From the perspective of feng shui, using water as a support behind is inappropriate because water is unstable. Relying on it as a support makes it difficult to achieve stability. Therefore, placing the fish tank behind the sofa will mean that the entire family sits there without any support, affecting the stability of the home's feng shui. However, if the fish tank is placed next to the sofa, it will not affect the feng shui of the house.
The fish tank must not face the stove: The fish tank contains water, while the stove in the kitchen belongs to fire. Since "water" and "fire" conflict, if the fish tank in the living room faces the stove in the kitchen in a straight line, it will violate the taboo of water and fire conflicting. The fish tank facing the stove can harm the health of the family. The reason is that water can suppress fire, and the stove, which is fire, will be harmed, and the family members who cook using this stove will also be affected. In addition, since the altar is also a furniture with a lot of fire, the fish tank should be placed as far away as possible from the altar in a straight line.
The number of fish kept should be compatible with the owner's Five Elements: How many fish should be kept in the fish tank to conform to the feng shui rules mainly depends on the owner's Five Elements of their birth chart.
According to the saying in "He Tu Luo Shu": "Heaven gives birth to water, Earth completes it; Earth gives birth to fire, Heaven completes it; Heaven gives birth to wood, Earth completes it; Earth gives birth to metal, Heaven completes it; Heaven gives birth to earth, Earth completes it." According to the above, as long as we find out the owner's Five Elements of their birth chart, we can determine how many fish should be kept to match.
For example, if the owner's Five Elements are "Water," he should keep one light-colored fish and six dark-colored fish. Others follow accordingly. Fish such as "plecostomus" (garbage fish) can be ignored.
Family Fish Number Chart:
Five Elements, Birth Sign, Color, and Quantity
1. Five Elements belong to Water, Birth Sign (Zi, Hai): Light color (white) one, Dark color (red or black) six
2. Five Elements belong to Fire, Birth Sign (Si, Wu): Light color (white) seven, Dark color (red or black) two
3. Five Elements belong to Wood, Birth Sign (Yin, Mao): Light color (white) three, Dark color (red or black) eight
4. Five Elements belong to Metal, Birth Sign (Shen, You): Light color (white) nine, Dark color (red or black) four
5. Five Elements belong to Earth, Birth Sign (Chou, Chen, Wei, Xu): Light color (white) five, Dark color (red or black) ten.
Notes to Take:
The fish tank should not be too large; a very large fish tank can store too much water. From the perspective of feng shui, water is important, but too much or too deep is not advisable. If the fish tank is higher than the eye level of an adult standing up, it is considered too high. Therefore, the fish tank in the living room should not be too large or too high, especially for small living rooms.
The fish tank should not be placed in the auspicious direction; no house is perfect, and there are always some external evils. Using a fish tank to resolve external evils is one of the clever methods. In feng shui, there is a saying "directing water into the zero hall." The term "zero hall" refers to a losing fortune area. The idea is to direct water into the losing fortune direction, which can turn misfortune into good fortune and change danger into safety. Therefore, the fish tank should be placed in the adverse direction, not in the auspicious direction.
Because "water" and "fire" conflict, if the fish tank in the living room faces the stove in the kitchen in a straight line, it violates the taboo of water and fire conflicting. The fish tank facing the stove can harm the health of the family. The reason is that water can suppress fire, and the stove, which is fire, will be harmed, and the family members who cook using this stove will also be affected. In addition, the fish tank should be placed as far away as possible from the altar in a straight line.
The fish tank must not be placed under the god of wealth: As the saying goes, "wealth belongs to its position," so the gods of fortune such as Fu, Lu, and Shou should be placed in the favorable wealth position, which can add to the good fortune. If the god of wealth is placed above the fish tank, it is a big mistake. Because the fish tank should be placed in the adverse direction of the house, if the god of wealth is placed near the fish tank, it contradicts the principle of "wealth belongs to its position." Moreover, placing the god of wealth above the fish tank violates the feng shui taboo of "the guardian deity going underwater," which can result in financial loss.
The number of fish kept should be compatible with the owner's Five Elements: How many fish should be kept in the fish tank to conform to the feng shui rules mainly depends on the owner's Five Elements of their birth chart.
How to determine your own Five Elements preferences and dislikes? The best method is to calculate based on your birth time and eight characters. However, this method is very complex and difficult, involving many changes, and it is difficult for ordinary people to master in a short time. Therefore, here we use a simple method based on the Five Elements attributes of the birth sign to calculate the direction of the auspicious fish tank. Although the accuracy is not as high as calculating the eight characters, it is very convenient and practical.
