02、When installing the gate, you must carefully check whether the wood grain is growing upwards or downwards. Usually, the grain growing from bottom to top is considered straight grain, and the grain growing from top to bottom is considered reverse grain. A gate with straight grain brings peace and smoothness to the household, while a gate with reverse grain may cause instability and problems in the household.
03、The height of the gate should be in proportion, usually taking seven chi (approximately 2.3 meters) as the standard. A gate that is too high may make people lose their sense of reason and become greedy and superficial, which is ominous. A gate that is too low or too small will appear closed off, leading to misfortune in all matters, and the good energy cannot enter, possibly causing people to lose confidence or face many obstacles in their endeavors.
04、The main gate should not directly face windows, back doors, or bathrooms. Doors and windows are the openings for the flow of energy into the house. The main gate should not be aligned with windows or back doors, forming a straight line through the house, which allows the energy to pass directly through without gathering inside, thus preventing wealth from accumulating. This is referred to as "losing wealth." A bathroom is a place for waste disposal, and its nature is not clean, so the main gate should also not directly face the bathroom. A direct view of the bathroom from the main gate may lead to errors in financial investments and damage the family's fortune.
05、The essential principle of Feng Shui is "favoring turns and avoiding direct hits." Setting up a foyer or low cabinet between the main gate and the living room can create a buffer, allowing the energy to turn and gather in the living room. It also keeps the interior of the villa hidden and prevents outsiders from peeking. A hidden and deep interior symbolizes continuous blessings. 06、The outer main gate, inner main gate, and internal doors should not be in a straight line, as this creates a "Penetrating Evil Energy" (Chuanshen Sha). When the front and back doors are aligned, it causes wealth to disperse. Additionally, a straight passage from the main gate to the end of the house can bring various troubles. If several rooms in the house are connected together, avoid setting up multiple doors that are directly aligned from the main gate. Also, avoid a long corridor connecting several rooms like in hotels or restaurants, as this may lead to infidelity or elopement, endangering the safety of the family.
07、On a single door, there should not be two or more colors, as this can create a scattered and unstable impression.
08、It is best to avoid round-arched doors inside the house. A circle represents movement, while a villa should be quiet, making it very inappropriate. Moreover, a round arch resembles a tomb gate, which is extremely unlucky. If for aesthetic reasons, you can use square arches instead.
09、The main gate should open inward rather than outward. As the gate is the entrance for positive energy, if it opens outward, it would send away the harmonious energy inside the house, resulting in bad luck and financial loss.
10、The main entrance is the gateway for the house to receive energy. It should be clean and bright, and not cluttered with items, as this may block the flow of energy. It should avoid having two gates facing each other or being parallel, as this can harm health, career, and family harmony. When two doors are directly opposite, family members often quarrel.
