Feng Shui is a profound and ancient art of the Chinese nation. Wind refers to vital energy and field power, while water represents movement and change. Precautions for Installing a Villa Gate

、In Feng Shui, it is auspicious for the gate to have an open space in front of it. If there are green fields, flat areas, ponds, or parking lots in front, it is best to open the central gate. If there is no open space in front, it is better to open the left side, or most gates should be opened from the left: "The Green Dragon is on the left and the White Tiger on the right," the Green Dragon on the left should be active, while the White Tiger on the right should be still. Therefore, all gates should be opened from the left, meaning people go out from inside, and the door handle should be on the left. If the door opens left or right incorrectly, it can lead to family conflicts. Opening the north gate, known as the Xuanwu Gate, is particularly inauspicious, and is called the "Ghost Gate" abroad, also implying "defeat in the north." Therefore, it is essential to be cautious when opening the north gate at home.
、When installing the gate, it is necessary to check whether the wood grain is growing in the direction of growth or against it. Usually, the grain growing from bottom to top is considered straight grain, while the grain growing from top to bottom is considered reverse grain. A straight grain gate brings peace and smoothness to the household, while a reverse grain gate may cause instability and unsmoothness in the household.
、The height of the door should be proportionate, usually with seven feet as the standard. A door that is too high can make people lose their sense of reason and become greedy and superficial, which is ominous. A door that is too low or too small appears closed off, leading to all kinds of misfortune, and the good energy cannot enter, possibly causing people to lose confidence or face many obstacles in their endeavors.
、The main door should not be aligned directly with windows, back doors, or bathrooms. Doors and windows are the openings through which energy enters and exits the house. The main door should not be aligned with windows or back doors in a straight line, forming a direct passage through the house, causing the energy to pass through without gathering inside the house, thus preventing wealth from accumulating. This is referred to as losing wealth. A bathroom is a place for people to eliminate waste, and its nature is not clean, so the main door should not face the bathroom directly. A main door facing a bathroom can lead to errors in financial investments and harm the family's fortune.
、A Feng Shui principle is "favoring turns and avoiding direct impact." Setting up a foyer or low cabinet between the main door and the living room creates a buffer between the inside and outside, allowing the energy to turn and gather in the living room, making the villa's interior hidden and less visible from the outside. A hidden and deep interior symbolizes continuous blessings.
、The outer main door, inner main door, and internal doors should not be in a straight line, as this is known as the "Penetrating Heart Evil." When the front and back doors align, it indicates that wealth cannot accumulate. Additionally, if the main door leads directly to the end, it can bring many troubles. For example, if several rooms are connected together in a house, it is not advisable to set up multiple doors that lead straight from the main door. It is also not advisable to have a long corridor connecting several rooms like hotels or restaurants, as this can lead to infidelity or elopement, jeopardizing the family's safety.
、On a single door, there should not be two or more colors, otherwise, it will give a feeling of being scattered and unstable.
、It is best to avoid having round arch-shaped doors inside the house. A circle represents movement, while a villa should be quiet, so this is very unsuitable. Moreover, a round arch resembles a tomb gate, which is extremely inauspicious. If it is for aesthetics, you can change it to a square arch.
、The main door should open inward rather than outward. Since the door is the entrance for positive energy, if the door opens outward, it will send the harmonious energy out of the house, leading to bad luck and financial loss.
、The main entrance is the gateway for the villa to receive positive energy, so it should be clean and bright, and should not be cluttered with items, as this can block the flow of energy. It should avoid having two doors facing each other or overlapping parallelly, as this can harm health, career, and family harmony. If two doors bite into each other, it can cause constant quarrels among family members. If the door directly faces a wall or allows a view of another room's activities, it can disrupt the flow of energy within the body, causing physical discomfort. Large rooms such as bedrooms and living rooms should have large doors, while small rooms like bathrooms and kitchens should have small doors. Because large doors can exert pressure on small doors, if the bathroom door is too large, it can lead to health and character issues, as well as digestive problems among family members.
