The Taboos of Clock Placement

1. The White Tiger Direction
Do not place or hang a clock in the White Tiger direction (i.e., west), because the White Tiger direction is considered an ominous direction in traditional feng shui. Therefore, the right side of the house should not have a clock. However, it can be placed or hung in the northwest direction. The color of the clock should mainly be white or gold, and the shape should be round for good luck, as this direction belongs to metal.
2. The Black Tortoise Direction
Do not place or hang a clock in the Black Tortoise direction (i.e., north), because the Black Tortoise direction is the back, which should be still rather than moving.
3. The Vermilion Bird Direction
A clock can be placed or hung in the Vermilion Bird direction (i.e., south), as this direction is the front, which is naturally active. The color of the clock should mainly be red, purple, or orange, and the shape is often octagonal for good luck, as this direction belongs to fire.
4. The Azure Dragon Direction
A clock can be placed or hung in the Azure Dragon direction (i.e., east) and the southeast direction, as the Azure Dragon direction is a lucky direction. Therefore, the left side of the living room is also suitable for placing a clock. As for the color of the clock, green and blue are preferable, and a square shape is auspicious, as these two directions belong to wood.
