Cronus (Kronos), the second king of the gods, was the youngest of the ancient Titan gods. In Greek, Cronos and time have similar sounds.Cronus was the son of the first god-king Uranus and the earth goddess Gaia, as well as the father of Zeus, Hera, Demeter, Hades, Poseidon, and Hestia. Cronus was the youngest of the Titans. After overthrowing his father Uranus' tyrannical rule, he led Olympus into a golden age. However, when Cronus overthrew his father's rule, he was prophesied to be overthrown by his own child. Therefore, Cronus swallowed all of his children, but Zeus was saved by his mother, the earth goddess Rhea. Eventually, Cronus was tricked by Zeus into spitting out all his children and was overthrown, along with other Titans, and imprisoned in Tartarus, the depths of hell.
Card Description
A old man wearing a gray cloak stands at the peak of a snowy mountain, holding an oil lamp, as if deep in thought. That seemingly weak light appears especially lonely and helpless in the dark snow night, but for the old man, it is truth and hope. The staff in his hand is the wooden stick of the Fool, the magical tool of the Magician, and the spear of victory of the Chariot, but now it has become so ordinary, which perfectly matches the Chinese saying "return to simplicity." The old man endures the loneliness of solitude, reflecting on his past, following the guidance of the lamp of truth, indicating the hardship and simplicity of the path of seeking truth, and also foretelling that only by embracing the world with an open heart and exploring the true self with a reflective attitude can one achieve success.
Interpretation of the Card: This hermit, holding a staff and a lamp, with a full beard, stands on top of a mountain, giving a sense of desolation and loneliness. He holds the lamp and looks down, as if searching for something. Could there be something hidden in the darkness?
Positive Position - Love
In this relationship, you may be thinking about your own needs. Or this card may simply refer to a person born under the sign of Virgo. The Hermit indicates that you clearly understand your independence in a romantic relationship, or the need for solitude to face your inner needs.
Reversed Position - Love
When The Hermit is reversed, you may feel very lonely. Or you may be living an unconventional life, implying long working hours to avoid real social contact. Before you allow others to get close to you, you need to examine yourself first. If you fear losing something, you will miss the opportunity for growth.
