Beginner's Quick Guide to Tarot Divination
The overall process of Tarot divination can be roughly divided into seven steps:Step 1, Choose a Spread:
Confirm the question you want to divinate, and choose an appropriate spread based on your question category.
Step 2, Shuffling the Cards:
1. Place the 22 major arcana cards face down in your hand.
2. Focus your mind, don't think about anything, and shuffle the cards in a circular motion clockwise or counterclockwise (depending on the direction you first shuffled them), until you feel like stopping.
3. Slowly gather the cards in a clockwise direction, finally forming a cross, then use your left hand to push the upright cards to the left horizontally, thus completing the shuffling process.
Step 3, Cutting the Deck:
1. Place the hand you rarely use on the shuffled deck (called deck A). Mentally focus on the question you want to ask.
2. Take a pile of cards (called deck B) from deck A according to your will and place it under deck A (toward you). Then take another pile of cards (called deck C) from deck B and place it on top of deck A. Now, there are three piles in front of you, ordered from top to bottom as deck C, deck A, and deck B.
3. Pick up deck A and place it on top of deck B, then stack the combined deck A and B on top of deck C. This way, the deck is restored to a single pile, and the cutting process is complete.
Step 4, Placing the Cards:
Arrange the Tarot cards according to the chosen divination method in the spread. Step 5, Reveal the Cards. At this point, the diviner can open the cards in the order of the spread.
Step 6, Interpreting the Cards:
Interpret the meaning of the cards based on their upright or reversed positions and their extended meanings.
Step 7, Collecting the Cards:
Collect the Tarot cards after divination and put them back into the bag for proper storage.
