Lushen is one of the Four Pillars' malevolent spirits. Lushen is a deity in folk beliefs who governs official ranks and salaries. In feudal times, becoming an official was closely related to the imperial examination system, so the deity who governed academic success was often Lushen. In folk belief, Lushen is usually considered to be the魁星 (Kui Xing) and the Wenchang Star.
Lu, meaning rank and salary, refers to obtaining it when in power and enjoying it. This is called Lu. Lu is the source of nourishing life. If Lu falls into emptiness or is in conflict, it is called "broken Lu." If Lu is used as a key element and is not relieved by auspicious deities, then the noble person may lose his position and be dismissed from office, while ordinary people may have insufficient clothing and food, or if the month branch is the "Lushen," they may be poor, without a house, leave their hometown, and wander elsewhere to make a living.
Lushen Song: Jia's Lu is in Yin, Yi's Lu is in Mao, Bing and Wu's Lu is in Si, Ding and Ji's Lu is in Wu, Geng's Lu is in Shen, Xin's Lu is in You, Ren's Lu is in Hai, Gui's Lu is in Zi. For someone born on a day with the Jia Wood stem, if the day branch or hour branch is Yin Wood, this indicates that they have encountered the Lushen.
For someone born on a day with the Yi Wood stem, if the day branch or hour branch is Mao Wood, this indicates that they have encountered the Lushen.
For someone born on a day with the Bing Wood or Wu Earth stem, if the day branch or hour branch is Si Fire, this indicates that they have encountered the Lushen.
For someone born on a day with the Ding Fire or Ji Earth stem, if the day branch or hour branch is Wu Fire, this indicates that they have encountered the Lushen.
For someone born on a day with the Geng Metal stem, if the day branch or hour branch is Shen Metal, this indicates that they have encountered the Lushen.
For someone born on a day with the Xin Metal stem, if the day branch or hour branch is You Metal, this indicates that they have encountered the Lushen.
For someone born on a day with the Ren Water stem, if the day branch or hour branch is Hai Water, this indicates that they have encountered the Lushen.
For someone born on a day with the Gui Water stem, if the day branch or hour branch is Zi Water, this indicates that they have encountered the Lushen.
