Juanshe is also one of the traditional Eight Characters divine evils, which mainly indicates disputes, verbal conflicts, speech disorders, or ungrateful children; or it may lead to legal troubles.

Juanshe is determined by checking the year branch against the month, day, and hour branches. It is calculated as the third position after the year branch. If the month, day, or hour branch matches, it is considered Juanshe. That is, if the year branch is Zi (Rat), then You (Rooster) in the month, day, or hour indicates Juanshe. Similarly, Chou (Ox) corresponds to Xu (Dog), Yin (Tiger) to Hai (Pig), Mao (Rabbit) to Zi (Rat), Chen (Dragon) to Chou (Ox), Si (Snake) to Yin (Tiger), Wu (Horse) to Mao (Rabbit), Wei (Goat) to Chen (Dragon), Shen (Monkey) to Si (Snake), You (Rooster) to Wu (Horse), Xu (Dog) to Wei (Goat), and Hai (Rat) to Shen (Monkey). For example, if the year branch is Zi (Rat), and You (Rooster) appears in the month, day, or hour, it is considered Juanshe, and so on for other cases.

Xingping Huihai says: “Juanshe causes unexpected troubles and ungrateful children.” Zhang Guo Xingzong says: “Juanshe is an unfavorable element in the fate.” Jin Jue says: “If Juanshe and Wang Shen enter the fate palace, it leads to speech disorders.” Zhiben says: “Juanshe brings legal troubles and punishment. If it meets Tiande, Ziwu, Beneficial Stars, Taiyang, and Jie Shen, it can be alleviated.” From the above, we can see that Juanshe is a divine evil that mainly brings unexpected troubles, ungrateful children, or legal issues. When this occurs in one's fate or in a certain year, the person is prone to encounter villains, verbal disputes, quarrels, family conflicts, or legal problems. They should especially control their temper, be more tolerant when facing matters, and avoid impulsive actions. If there are also favorable deities or beneficial stars in the fate, the harm caused by Juanshe can be significantly reduced or eliminated.
