Method of Ba Zi Marriage Compatibility:
Method One: The Compatibility of Birth Years: This is the simplest method of marriage compatibility, which is based on the compatibility between the birth years of two people. If the two are compatible and supportive, it indicates good feelings and stable marriage; if they are in conflict, counteracted, or harmful, it represents an unhappy marriage. For example, the rat conflicts with the horse. The rat's earthly branch is "Zi", and the horse's earthly branch is "Wu". "Zi" and "Wu" are in conflict, so people born in the year of the rat and horse should not get married.Method Two: Day Pillar Compatibility Method: In Ba Zi, the day pillar's heavenly stem represents the person themselves. When matching for marriage, one can take the day pillars of oneself and the other person and check for any mutual support, conflict, or harmony. It is favorable to have mutual support and harmony, and it is not advisable to have conflict or counteraction. The husband's star and wife's star should be matched properly, and only when the day pillars are compatible and not conflicting, and there are no other problems in the rest of the Ba Zi, the marriage is generally quite good.
Method Three: Ten Gods Compatibility Method: The ten gods compatibility method uses the six relatives to match for marriage. For men, it is not advisable for both the "Bing" and "Jie Cai" to be too strong, as this may harm the wife. For women, it is not advisable to have "Shang Guan" appearing, as it may harm the husband. For men, the "Pian Cai" should not appear openly, otherwise it may indicate lack of loyalty. For women, if "Guan Sha" mixes without "Shi Shang" to control it, it may lead to extramarital affairs or a second marriage, resulting in a difficult path of marriage.
Method Four: Ba Zi Marriage Compatibility Method
The Ba Zi marriage compatibility method is a way to match the use spirits (Yong Shen) of the two people's Ba Zi. This method is relatively comprehensive but also more complicated. Generally, couples who meet the following conditions are considered to have a good relationship:
1. The use spirits of both the man and the woman's Ba Zi are mutually supportive;
2. One person's taboo spirit is the other's use spirit, which benefits only one party;
3. One person's taboo spirit is controlled by the other's Ba Zi, which benefits only one party;
4. After combining the two people's Ba Zi, neither harms the other's children stars (such as "Guan Sha" and "Shi Shang");
5. The two people's Ba Zi structures do not harm each other;
6. The use spirits of both people's major periods complement each other, leading to a harmonious and smooth marriage.
Marriage Relationships According to Ba Zi:
First, a weak Ba Zi with a "Bi Jian" in the day branch indicates a good marital relationship.In the theory of Ba Zi, the day branch represents the marital palace. If the day branch is a "Bi Jian" (such as "Yi Mao" or "Jia Yin," where the heavenly stem and earthly branch are of the same element and same sex), or a "Jie Cai" (such as "Bing Wu" or "Ding Si," where the heavenly stem and earthly branch are of the same element but different sexes), it usually means that the couple often quarrels and refuses to give in. However, this rule applies only when the day stem is strong. If the day stem is weak, and the "Bi Jian" or "Jie Cai" in the day branch is a favorable element, it suggests that the couple is united and can share hardships together. If the day branch is "Jie Cai," although the spouse can share hardships, there may be issues like disputes or injuries.
Second, a Ba Zi where the day stem and branch are mutually supportive indicates a good marital relationship.
According to Ba Zi theory, the day stem represents the individual, and the day branch represents the spouse. If the day stem supports the day branch (such as "Reng Yin" or "Gui Mao") or the day branch supports the day stem (such as "Reng Shen" or "Gui You"), it indicates that the couple can accommodate each other, and one party is very considerate towards the other. If there are no other unfavorable combinations affecting the marriage, such a Ba Zi usually indicates a good marital relationship. However, for a female with a "Shang Guan" in the day branch (where the heavenly stem supports the earthly branch, but the yin-yang attributes of the earthly branch's hidden stems differ from the heavenly stem, such as "Yi Wu" or "Jia Wu"), or a female with a "Shi Shen" in her earthly branch (such as "Reng Yin"), the marital relationship may not be good. Therefore, any rule has its conditions and should not be too rigidly applied.
Third, if the spouse's star is a favorable element and close to the day stem, the marital relationship is good.
For men, the "Zheng Cai" represents the wife, and for women, the "Zheng Guan" represents the husband. If the spouse's star is a favorable element and located in the day branch (for example, a man's day pillar is "Wu Zi" or a woman's day pillar is "Ding Hai"), it is close to the day stem, indicating that the man marries a virtuous wife or the woman marries a noble husband, and the marital relationship is very good. Additionally, if the spouse's star is favorable and located in the month stem or hour stem, the emotional bond between the couple is deep and the relationship is also good.
