Chinese Zodiac Signs
The twelve Chinese zodiac signs are best when they are compatible and in harmony. For example, Rat and Ox, Tiger and Pig, Rabbit and Dog, Dragon and Rooster, Snake and Monkey, Horse and Sheep; these six combinations are known as “Six Harmonies,” which are the best zodiac combinations. Among them, the most unfavorable is "clashing," such as Rat and Horse, Ox and Sheep, Tiger and Monkey, Rabbit and Rooster, Dragon and Dog, Snake and Pig. However, if one of the two people's zodiac signs happens to be an "unfavorable element" (忌神), and the other person's sign clashes with it, this situation might actually turn out to be beneficial. In addition to clashing, there are also "injuring" and "harming" situations, but we won't go into detail here.
Marriage Palace
The Marriage Palace refers to the Day Pillar of the Eight Characters. If the man's Day Pillar is "Zi" (子) and the woman's Day Pillar is "Wu" (午), it is called "mutual clash." This kind of combination, where the Marriage Palaces clash or conflict, often leads to divorce after marriage. Moreover, the Marriage Palace clash also includes when your own Marriage Palace is clashed by the adjacent Month Branch or Hour Branch. What does this mean? It means that your Marriage Palace is being clashed by the adjacent branches, which already contains factors of marital misfortune, and this should be noted carefully.
Five Elements (Wuxing)
Five Elements refer to Metal, Wood, Water, Fire, and Earth. "Favorable Elements" (喜用) are those elements most needed in your destiny. For example, for a male born with excessive Water and Wood, the favorable elements would be Fire and Earth. For a female with excessive Fire and Earth, the favorable elements would be Water and Wood. When the favorable elements of the two people complement each other, it is called "mutual use and complementation" of the Five Elements. Such combinations often lead to a loving and harmonious relationship between couples, filled with affection and rarely involving quarrels.
Full Birth Chart (Bazi)
(1) It is advisable for the year elements to be mutually supportive, while mutual destruction is unfavorable. For instance, a man with a Water element and a woman with a Metal element is ideal, whereas a man with a Water element and a woman with a Earth element is not favorable, and so on.
(2) The Heavenly Stems and Earthly Branches of the birth year and day should be mutually supportive or form a Three-Union Pattern. Otherwise, separation or many difficulties may occur.
(3) The balance of the Five Elements in the birth charts of both individuals can serve as a basis for marriage compatibility. For example, if a woman has too many "伤官" (Shangguan) elements, she may harm her husband, but if the man has too many "比劫" (Bijie) elements, they can be compatible. If the Two People’s Five Elements are mutually favorable and complementary, it will be even better, as it will enhance both of their destinies. Many people who experience promotion and wealth after marriage fall into this category.
