Using the Auxiliary God Method
If the auxiliary gods of both individuals' Eight Characters help each other, the marriage is auspicious; if they clash, it is inauspicious.
The Year Pillar Naiyin Method
If the naiyin of the year pillars of the two people are supportive or harmonious, it is auspicious; if they clash, it is inauspicious.
Four Pillars Compatibility Method
Place the Eight Characters of the man and woman together, aligning the year pillar with the year pillar, the month pillar with the month pillar, the day pillar with the day pillar, and the hour pillar with the hour pillar. If there are more harmonious and supportive relationships, it indicates an auspicious marriage; however, if there are many conflicting, clashing, or harmful relationships, it is considered very inauspicious.
Spiritual Deities Method
It refers to determining compatibility based on the spiritual deities present in the Eight Characters. If a man's Eight Characters contain a spiritual deity that is detrimental to his wife, then the woman should not easily marry him. If a woman's Eight Characters contain a spiritual deity indicating harm to her husband, the man should be cautious about marrying her. This method has been proven to have high predictive effectiveness.
Animal Sign Method
It determines whether two people are suitable for marriage by looking at their zodiac signs. For example, "Pigs and monkeys don't get along," "White horses fear blue oxen," etc. Generally, the compatibility is determined by the relationship between the year branches of the man and woman's Eight Characters. If there is a mutual harm, conflict, or injury between the year branches, it is considered unsuitable for marriage.
Year Pillar Method
It uses the relationship between the two characters in the year pillars of the man and woman's Eight Characters to determine the compatibility of their marriage. If the year pillars are mutually harmonious and balanced, the marriage is auspicious; if they are supportive, it is also auspicious. Conversely, if there is a heavenly clash or earthly opposition, it is inauspicious.
Naiyin Five Elements
It determines the compatibility of the couple by analyzing the five elements represented by the naiyin of their birth years. The best situation is when the five elements are supportive or the same. For instance, a person born under the Wood element is suitable to marry someone with Water or Fire elements; a person with the Water element is suitable to marry someone with Metal or Wood elements; a person with the Metal element is suitable to marry someone with Water or Earth elements; a person with the Fire element is suitable to marry someone with Wood or Earth elements; and a person with the Earth element is suitable to marry someone with Metal or Fire elements. Additionally, people with the same element can also be compatible. For example, if both are Yangliu Wood, it is said: “Two wood couples enjoy great happiness, wealth and joy in all matters. Originally, two woods bring many blessings, and children are cleverly born.”
Male Character Clashes Female Character
A male character clashing with a female character is called a "correct clash." In traditional Chinese astrology, the one who controls me is called "Officer" (Guan), hence the term "Officer" (Guanren) for a husband. This "clash" actually represents reliance, care, and protection. In astrology, the one I control is called "Wealth" (Cai). Wealth represents the wife, and abundant wealth with weak body is common.
Female Character Clashes Male Character
If the female character clashes with the male character, it contradicts the traditional belief that the husband is the "Officer" and the wife is the "Wealth." Unless the man is very obedient and the woman is strict, it is rare to have harmony.
