What is a Water Element Person?

Water elements are divided into six types: Bing Zi Ding Chou Jian Xia Shui (Stream under the Gully), Jia Yin Yi Mao Da Xi Shui (Big Stream Water), Ren Chen Gui Si Chang Liu Shui (Long Flowing Water), Bing Wu Ding Wei Tian He Shui (Heavenly River Water), Jia Shen Yi You Quan Zhong Shui (Spring Water), and Ren Xu Gui Hai Da Hai Shui (Sea Water). The meanings and characteristics of each type of water element are different. For example, Heaven River Water and Sea Water are numerous and not affected by earth; Long Flowing Water, Big Stream Water, and Spring Water like earth to surround them so that they can accumulate; and Stream Water does not see sunlight, it is cold and dark. These six different water elements have their own unique meanings.

What is the water element of Bing Zi and Ding Chou, the Stream under the Gully? Stream under the Gully refers to clear and clean water. The Book of Destiny says that this water is good if it meets metal, especially Sand Gold and Sword Edge Gold (Jia Wu Yi Wei Sand Gold, Ren Shen Gui You Sword Edge Gold). However, it cannot mix with fire or earth elements, because water and fire are incompatible, and earth makes water unclear. Finally, if it meets Big Stream Water (Jia Yin Yi Mao), it symbolizes small streams converging into rivers, long-lasting and worry-free.

What is the water element of Jia Yin and Yi Mao, the Big Stream Water? Ancient books on Ba Zi fate theory record that Big Stream Water is destined to flow to the sea, and the most important thing is that it has an endless source of water. Therefore, Big Stream Water is auspicious when it meets water or metal that can produce water; but encountering various earths that destroy water and woods that consume water is not good, except for Ren Zi Gui Chou Sang Zhe Mu (Sandalwood Wood), because Ren Zi is water and Gui Chou is mountain, and when it meets water again, it is called "water circling around mountains," which is a rare and precious configuration according to the Book of Destiny.

What is the water element of Ren Chen and Gui Si, the Long Flowing Water? Ren Chen and Gui Si, the water flows towards the southeast, and its energy approaches the Fire Palace. Fire is bright and strong, and water finds its storage. After filling the gaps, it continues forward, which is called Long Flowing Water. Since gold can produce water, it is auspicious when meeting gold, but afraid of too much water, as excessive water may flood. At the same time, water and earth are opposing, and meeting earth such as Bing Xu, Ding Hai, Geng Zi, Xin Chou, will bring misfortune and even early death. It must be rescued by gold that can produce water. In addition, water and fire also oppose, and opposition means misfortune. But if it meets Jia Chen, since Chen is dragon, it means the dragon returns to the sea, which is auspicious.

What is the water element of Bing Wu and Ding Wei, the Heavenly River Water? Bing Wu and Ding Wei refer to the stage of rising and falling, located in the high and bright fire position. There is abundant water that brings rain to relieve the fire. Only in the sky can there be such water, hence it is called Heavenly River Water. Since Heavenly River Water is in the sky, no earthly metal, water, wood, fire, or earth can control it, or they can complement each other, or the Heavenly River Water can nourish and benefit. According to the Book of Destiny, only the Wall Earth can clash with it, damaging its beneficial effects.

What is the water element of Jia Shen and Yi You, the Spring Water? Jia Shen and Yi You refer to calm and quiet energy, with the mother and child in the same position, flowing endlessly and never exhausting, hence it is called Spring Water. When it meets metal, the water source is continuous, and Sand Gold and Hairpin Gold are the best. Meeting water and wood is also auspicious. If someone has four pillars with water in the year and hour, and wood in the day and hour, it is called "Water Circling the Flower Embankment," which signifies great wealth and high status.

What is the water element of Ren Xu and Gui Hai, the Sea Water? Ren Xu and Gui Hai refer to the gate of heaven, where the energy is closed and sealed, and the water travels without rushing, taking a peaceful path. It comes endlessly and is not overflowing, hence it is called Sea Water. Sea Water is vast and boundless, unknown to anyone, and its surging and powerful nature is impossible to resist. Therefore, people with Sea Water as their element can have both auspicious and inauspicious outcomes. All rivers flow into the sea, so天河 (Heaven River), 长流 (Long Flowing), and 大溪 (Big Stream) waters meet it and are auspicious. If Ren Chen meets Sea Water, it is called "Dragon Returning to the Sea." If the yin and yang branches match properly, one will have a life of great wealth and honor. It is favorable to meet the upper fire, as the sun rises from the East; it is favorable to meet Sea Gold among metals; it is favorable to meet Sandwood and Willowwood among woods; and it is favorable to meet Roadside Earth and Great Road Earth among soils. Those who are clear-minded cannot withstand Sea Water; meeting it is bad. If it meets Thunderfire, the sea becomes stormy, lightning flashes, and this represents a storm at sea. For a person's destiny, this means a life full of turbulence.

What is Nayin?

The ten heavenly stems and twelve earthly branches are paired in order, from Jia Zi to Gui Hai, forming 60 combinations, hence called the Sixty Jia Zi. Each combination of a heavenly stem and an earthly branch in the Sixty Jia Zi has a new five elements - known as "Nayin".

The basic elements of Five Elements fortune-telling are the five elements: Metal, Wood, Water, Fire, and Earth. They can be calculated through numbers. Numbers, in turn, are derived from the River Map. Thus, the "Kao Yuan" states: "The number of the Grand Manifestation is fifty, and the use is forty-nine. Subtract the sum of two heavenly stems and two earthly branches from forty-nine. If the remainder is more than ten, subtract ten. If the remainder is five, it is Water; six, Fire; eight, Wood; nine, Metal; and ten, Earth. Each corresponds to the five elements that generate it, which is called 'Nayin'."

For example, Jia Zi and Yi Chou: Jia is nine, Zi is nine, Yi is eight, Chou is eight. Their total is thirty-four. Subtracting this from forty-nine leaves fifteen. Removing ten, we get five, which belongs to Earth. Earth produces Metal. Therefore, the "Nayin" of Jia Zi and Yi Chou corresponds to Metal.
