In the study of Chinese Ba Zi (Eight Characters), determining whether a person's "body" is strong (Shen Wang) or weak (Shen Ruo) is an important step in analyzing one's fate. This article will introduce a simple method to determine Shen Wang and Shen Ruo, and explore their impact on personal character and financial control ability.

Definitions of Shen Wang and Shen Ruo

Shen Wang and Shen Ruo are fundamental concepts in Ba Zi. They describe a person's strength or weakness in terms of the Five Elements. Shen Wang refers to when a person's Eight Characters receive support from the month pillar, while Shen Strong means that there are many elements that are similar to the day pillar. If the Eight Characters are not supported by the month but have too many similar elements, it is considered as Shen Strong. Conversely, if the Eight Characters are supported by the month but are surrounded by enemies, it is considered as Shen Weak. This classification helps us better understand a person's personality and destiny.

Simple Method for Determination

A simple way to determine Shen Wang and Shen Ruo is through a statistical calculation. First, it is necessary to understand the strength of the day pillar, because a strong body (Shen Strong) equals a strong day pillar, and a weak body (Shen Weak) equals a weak day pillar. Then, by calculating the number of elements in the Eight Characters that are the same as the day pillar, we can determine whether it is Shen Strong or Shen Weak. For example, if the day pillar is Fire, then we calculate the number of Fire elements in the Eight Characters. If Fire elements are numerous, it is considered as Shen Strong; otherwise, it is considered as Shen Weak.

Impact of Shen Wang and Shen Ruo

Shen Wang and Shen Ruo have significant impacts on a person's personality and financial control ability. People with a strong body (Shen Strong) usually have a strong sense of self, are very subjective, have their own ideas, and may exhibit arrogance and bias. In their careers, they tend to make decisions independently and do not like being arranged or planned. People with a weak body (Shen Weak), on the other hand, are more likely to accept others' opinions, value relationships, and desire capability and independence. In terms of financial control, those with a strong body are more concerned about their career and money, and have a strong desire for control; while those with a weak body are less concerned about wealth, and focus more on pursuing their own career and building good relationships with people.

Through a simple statistical method, we can quickly determine a person's Shen Wang or Shen Ruo status, which is of great significance for understanding personal characteristics and financial control ability. However, Shen Wang and Shen Ruo are not the only factors that determine the fortune or misfortune of a person's life; they are just one of many factors that influence a person's life and decision-making.
