In the ancient temple gate, Huiming carried incense, troubled by strange phenomena in his destiny chart. Facing Master Zhiyuan, he sought answers, and the master revealed a past-life romance and the trials of this life.

The Fate Entanglement of Lianzhen and Hongluan
In Huiming's destiny chart, the stars Lianzhen and Hongluan both entered his fate palace, indicating the entanglement of past-life debts. Master Zhiyuan quoted teachings from "The Great Compilation of Star Studies," pointing out that Huiming's wandering mind and difficulties in cultivation could only be resolved by cutting off attachments to see true nature. Huiming's confusion and the master's guidance unveiled an unfinished romantic bond from a past life.
Huiming's Cultivation and Inner Demons
Huiming, the son of a wealthy merchant in the city, was intelligent from a young age and developed a belief in Buddhism. At twenty, he left his family and went into the mountains to study under a teacher. In meditation, he often saw the image of a woman, familiar yet unfamiliar. Master Zhiyuan explained that Huiming's inner demons were not caused by external forces but by his own delusions. Unlike ordinary people, because the Lianzhen star governs celibacy and no desires, while the Hongluan star is associated with deep romantic connections, their convergence created a conflict between fire and water.
Revelations from the Past-Life Romance
Through the records in "Mysteries of the Taoist Gate," Master Zhiyuan told Huiming that those with Lianzhen and Hongluan shining in their fate palace were bound by unresolved past-life relationships, and must resolve them to achieve liberation. Otherwise, they would not attain enlightenment in this life. Under the master's guidance, Huiming used the Mingxin Baobao (Treasure of Clear Mind) to meditate and search for clues about his past lives.
Huiming's Past Life and Yue Niang
In meditation, Huiming returned to a prosperous city five hundred years ago. He was an official named Lin Yuan, who fell in love with a courtesan named Yue Niang. However, their relationship ended tragically due to social norms and the interference of powerful figures. Lin Yuan met the monk Kongming in prison, realized Buddhist teachings, and after being released, became a monk named Mingxin. Yet he never managed to let go of his longing for Yue Niang.
Huiming's Present Life and Su Yuyan
After emerging from meditation, Huiming learned that he had been the monk Mingxin in a past life, unable to let go of his attachment to love, which led him to reincarnate again in this life. Master Zhiyuan pointed out that Huiming must face and resolve this emotional bond, not avoid it, but confront it directly. At this moment, Su Yuyan appeared, her appearance and behavior eerily similar to Yue Niang in Huiming's dreams. Huiming realized that the debt of love he owed in the past was now truly coming to be repaid in this life.
Huiming's story is a profound revelation about fate, romantic bonds, and cultivation. The presence of Hongluan in the Palace of Blessings signifies the theme of past-life debts, revealing the romantic connection across time between Huiming, Yue Niang, and Su Yuyan, as well as the deep connection between personal cultivation and past karma. The guidance of Master Zhiyuan and Huiming's experiences together form a rich picture of fate, reincarnation, and spiritual liberation.
