In the study of Yixue (I Ching), the phenomenon of "Fuyin" (伏吟) in the day pillar is often considered closely related to the ups and downs of fate. Fuyin means repetition and lamentation, symbolizing a certain ominous omen. This article will explore in depth the manifestations of Fuyin in the major periods (大运) and its impact on an individual's destiny.

Definition and Impact of Fuyin
In Yixue, Fuyin refers to the situation where a column in the four pillars or the major period has the same heavenly stem and earthly branch as the year of the rat (太岁). Traditional beliefs hold that Fuyin often foretells misfortune, as described by the saying, "Fanyin and Fuyin bring tears and sorrow." However, Fuyin itself is not absolutely auspicious or inauspicious; it must be judged in combination with the favorable or unfavorable elements in the birth chart. If the "useful deity" (用神) is in Fuyin, it brings auspiciousness; if the "hostile deity" (忌神) is in Fuyin, it brings misfortune.
Case Analysis
Taking the case of a female's birth chart as an example: Geng Chen, Ji Wu, Ren Wu, Gui Mao. First, we analyze its strength and weakness. The water element (壬水) was born in the fifth month (午月), with four supportive elements and four elements in the month of power, making the eight characters slightly weak. Next, we find the "Taiji point" (太极点), taking the "Ink and Comparison" (印比) as the useful deity, and selecting the time stem Gui (癸) as the Taiji point. According to the principle that the Taiji point remains stable without shifting, we determine the major number for the life period, which is 5, meaning a critical point between the ages of 40 and 50. Then, we determine the minor number for the year, predicting a critical moment around the age of 42. Specifically, in the year 2002, which was the year of Ren Wu, the day pillar was in Fuyin. According to the thinking of Zhongtian Yixue, it was determined that there would definitely be a critical moment in the 42nd year of Ren Wu. In fact, she passed away in Beijing on October 20th of that year, at the age of 42.
The Scientific Nature of the Yixue System
Our Yixue system is a scientific theory of Yixue, characterized by regularity, digitization, and theoretical foundation, and it is simple and clear. Through this case, we can see the practicality and accuracy of Yixue in predicting and explaining fate.

Through an in-depth analysis of the Fuyin day pillar in the major periods, we have learned that Fuyin is not simply an omen of good or bad fortune, but rather requires comprehensive judgment based on the birth chart and major periods. The wisdom of Yixue lies in its regularity and scientific nature, providing us with clues and strategies for turning points in our fate. Through the discussion in this article, we have come to better understand the practical value and profound significance of Yixue in modern life.
